Happy Mothers Day to all those who celebrate.
I'm here to celebrate my first true love, my mom Karen :) 💕🌼 someone who has always been a protector, fighter and emotional support throughout my journey as a human.
For ever a staple in my life, my mom has been there to always be the foundational ground for how I care and learn. Someone in love with education and always discovering things that you might have not known. My mom taught me at a young age to always travel, to see the world with lenses viewed in kindness and empathy such as Jesus did. Her passions rubbed off on me I see, as living in Canada has given me the chance to discover new people, new ideas and cultures I don't think I would have met if I stayed in my hometown. I am forever grateful.
Although, we're about 5,100 miles away not a time passes by that I don't miss my first best friend, especially all those giggle sessions and shopping sprees we havoc. I love you so so soooo much mama, even if that mileage sounds far, truly, it isn't all. ❤️

Greatful for every year I gain with this lovely family, who have taken me in with open arms and always a full plate of Slavic delights.
This year felt truly special for some reason the cards fell into place and the time spent with my Vancouver family made our interaction last.
Living abroad has never not had its struggles missing out on life while it whisks away in a flurry of weeks that turn into months and eventually you remember its been years, PLURAL?!?
It can really stop you in your tracks and make you spiral. The part of knowing this information feels like wearing a heavy weighted medal which is bittersweet, warm yet still slightly cold, but an achievement nonetheless.
This chance I have been given was awarded to me at a time I felt the most aimless but some how God knew just what I needed to advance and find happiness in this life.
"Would you like to dance with me outside in below freezing temps?" Now in your mind you most likely would hear that and reply with a crude remark or give a slight grin as if it we're joke. For @chatterbox_dnb it was all too simple of a question "yes" being an ice cold canadian he was equipped for the nippy -20°c we would experience.... but for me the logistics and questions I had went far beyond my greatest imagination. "What would I wear? How would I feel?! Wait.... would my toes fall off if I don't constantly keep moving????" Naturally as native Floridian I had to bite the bullet, wrap myself up like a mummy, and pray that the sun gods would melt the icy tundra that is Edmonton.
That unfortunately did not happen.
Yes, my eyelashes froze a couple of times and generally the walk through downtown and the Ice district whipped winds that felt like glass shards, beating into my cheeks at lightning speed. But hey at least I could see the sun (cough cough curse you Vancouver clouds) the liqour/food is cheap 😭the mall is massive and a great place to get buzzed in 😅 and the night life EDM scene was refreshing, genre-fluid and not the least bit snobby. I didn't get to see it all but I'm glad I visited Edmonton. Rich in diversity and full of delcious meals, warm talks as we bundled up for Deadmau5 and the opportunity to grow close to new faces.
Thank you @kay.bro and @taliaconlon for showing us around your city and allowing us to grow deeper in connection. Party therapy is healing therapy, lets do it again next year ❤️ Sometimes there are opportunities in your life you can't ever pass up, this was one of them. See you next time adventure pal thank you for always wanting to give me the 🌎 💓

Although we might be young into our relationship my time spending your companionship has felt like an entire life time of lessons learned and thrilling adventures.
