Mud, madness, and machines unleashed 💥
At Safari Rally Kenya’s Camp Moran, it’s not just a race… it’s survival.
But that’s the beauty of WRC raw, unpredictable and wild.

The Africa Media Festival 2026 hosted by Baraza Media Lab was a great reminder of how the Africa media industry has changed to become sustainable and also completely reimagined.
The discussion this year has gone well beyond the ink and paper stories that have historically defined our industry and have developed a clear vision of a new future for media through the themes of resilience, innovation, and responsibility.
Personally, one of the most important takeaways from the festival was recognising that while AI is progressing on an unprecedented scale, technology will never be able to replace human judgment, conscience, ethics and lived experiences.
Another key takeaway for me was my appreciation for locally based narratives, i.e., African stories told by African storytellers will have unique levels of nuance, cultural richness and depth of context that no one else can replicate.
As I create visual stories, I not only contribute visually but also as a memory maker shaping how others view their past while also contributing to the broader social conversation.
The festival solidified my basic belief that powerful storytelling delivers lasting transformation by changing society and documenting people's moments.
Finally, I want to express my gratitude to all the festival participants for the experiences I had, the friendships I made and the community of journalists and creatives committed to rethinking media freedom in Africa.
I look forward to applying the lessons learned from the festival to my work in future years.
