Meet Tehotu Wong, born and raised on the beaches of Tahiti, where spearfishing isn’t just a hobby, it’s a heritage. He learned the way of the ocean early, swimming alongside his great-grandpa and older cousins who taught him how to fish, dive, and live sustainably.
Tehotu landed his first dogtooth tuna at 15, a moment that set the tone for everything that followed. For him, spearfishing isn’t just a pursuit; it’s a way of connecting with his ancestors, providing for loved ones, and honoring the waters his family has fished for generations.
These days, you’ll find him splitting time between surfing, fishing, and diving around Teahupo’o and the North Shore of Hawaii.
