Intamacy Catalogue… Ive been in a bit of an art slump for a few months now. Moving houses and realising time is always moving forward is freaking me out! what do you mean those journal entries from 3 years ago could still apply to present day me? am i even changing? what is growth a sign of what is a sign of growth. maybe going back to school will be good for me! maybe growing back to drool will eat food for me! im intimately picking apart who i thought i was in my bedsheets. reading reading reading. doodling and journalling. maybe ill make some real art soon 🩷

Set up for my last crit ✨ CLUB TALK

CLUB TALK is my most recent artwork that delves into the history of female oppression, whilst celebrating sexual liberation and queer revolution. During the 1700-1800s women were not allowed to speak to potential suitors in the ballroom - instead, flirtatious glove language was created to communicate to their interest. In 2024, nobody can speak to their suitors because the club music is waaay to loud. It's time to bring back flirtatious glove language baby!!! I have created this artwork to explore this language and how we could integrate it into the modern age, with more modern hand gestures we all know and love 👌✌️🖕... The glove itself has a bronze monster sewn onto its fingers and palms. With both female and male genitals, the monster has no right or wrong way of being perceived. Only the way that the viewer views it. Perhaps the real monster is the stereotypes and ideals we place onto the glove itself... Does the way it moves provoke you? Is it playful? There is so much more I can say about this work. Here are some key concepts I have tried to explore: - Club kids culture - Exploitation in the field of sex work - Advertising of sex work - Mouches - 1800s ballroom makeup - Overconsumption / Oversexualisation
