Two years ago, pre-vaccine, Maya and I conceived of a short film we could shoot outdoors, socially distanced, about couples meeting outdoors, socially distanced— something to capture the strange experience we were living through.
We convinced some talented actor-couples to play character-couples, we convinced a talented camera-couple to be the camera department, and we convinced a talented sound man to take a pcr test. I got a severe mask-shaped sunburn, Maya got to live with that face for a good couple of weeks. It was fun. And it was either going to come out the day after we shot or two years later, as a kind of time capsule…
