what can i say about Uzbekistan besides i love you?! such a fantastic country, so diverse and rich in culture and history; from the ancient fortresses in khiva and bukhara to the shiny skyscrapers of Tashkent, i found myself constantly thrilled and surprised by this place. ive never seen so many blue tiles in my life and I probably never will again. the craftsmanship and artistry of the people here is remarkable, and im especially grateful for all the time i got to spend with funny, determined, charming, talented Uzbek women -- artisans, weavers, doctors, mothers, jewelry-makers, embroiderers, little girls, and tough elderly women who love to make people smile. all the girls i met during my visit were so passionate and creative, and im really grateful for everyone who took the time to tell me about their work, their life, their culture, food and art, how to navigate their cities, what to order, what to see.. this might have been the most time i spent physically alone on a trip, away from tour groups and busy social hostels, but i never once felt lonely. ❤️

Ցտեսություն, Հայաստան, և շնորհակալություն ամբողջ գաթայի համար։ most of my time in armenia was spent in and around yerevan, with a couple of days down in goris. what stood out most was the folks i met along the way. armenians are honestly some of the most resilient people i’ve ever met, surviving everything the country (and it's people) has been through historically-- and very recently. i felt like a bit of a bumbling idiot trying to find my way around such a sprawling metropolitan city where most speak primarily armenian and russian, but language barrier be damned, random people were constantly helping me out !! yerevan was soooo gorgeous. the city has this stylish feel to it with open cafés, wide boulevards, old pink stone buildings, and people who srsly know how to dress. I felt super chopped in my backpacker travel uniform but that's ok. Yerevan is also one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world-- yerevan traces its history back to 782 bc when the fortress of erebuni was founded, which technically makes it older than rome by a few decades :0! i also really recommend that people should educate themselves about the armenian genocide and the continual loss of land and life in the region, as in the west, I feel we r taught far too little about the topic. big thank you to all the sweet friends and acquaintances on tour groups, hostels, or who i met in the city that helped me out and made this really memorable for me ❤️ much love to armenia and i hope ill be back soon 🤙

i came to Georgia knowing almost nothing about it and i left loving the Caucasus, passionately!! the first humanoids to venture out of Africa first came to the Caucasus, and have continually lived here for two million years; from the journey of the first homosapiens, to the adventure of Jason and the Argonauts to the Soviet occupation, this country has constantly changed and shifted with the times, yet maintained a strong sense of national pride and loyalty to tradition. a richly diverse place. im happy to say i met some truly wonderful and fascinating people during my time here and i only hope ill meet those fellow travelers again! გმადლობთ, საქარტველო!

Happy to present @remikoebel @technicolorchainsaw "Everybody Else's Girl". The exhibition starts 13.02.2026 including a guest talk at 7pm. The exhibition will be on view until 06.03.2026. About "Everybody Else's Girl": American feminist philosopher and gender studies scholar Judith Butler developed a theory questioning the notion that gendered behaviors are innate, arguing that what we perceive as femininity and masculinity are actually learned performances shaped by societal expectations and often violently imposed by normative heterosexuality. Every morning when I wake up and prepare for my day, I reach for my makeup. This is an ingrained habit, a deep groove I’ve worn in the side of my routine that I struggle to see myself abandoning. My life is full of eccentricities and oddities, and my flamboyant, often extravagant appearance reflects that. I have a great appreciation for the sparkling and beautiful. This is not an innate factor of my identity which I was born with, but a learned instinct. It has made me a subtle infiltrator in the heterosexual cisgender world, a target for violence, and an object of desire. I’ve identified as non-binary since quite a young age, to the great confusion and frustration of almost everyone around me at all times. It’s sort of like hearing a Barbie doll say, “Actually, I’d like to abstain from this whole gender thing - but hey, hand me that pink feather boa!” It’s not exactly straightforward, and it hasn’t even gone over particularly well in queer spaces either. Even fellow trans peers would often misgender me; I spent my teenage years bouncing between eccentric femininity, androgyny, and subpar attempts at mimicking the queer masculinity of my friends and mentors. It’s very painful when nearly everyone in your life politely averts their eyes from the parts of you that make them uncomfortable. I had to come to terms with being the only person in the world who understands me. It’s isolating. I’m always performing my gender, this formless thing inside me that I can’t describe. No words suffice[...]." More from the artist and about the series in the exhibition.
