• Going through the motions •
Creating my first life-size sculpture has been a truly rewarding experience, although it hasn't been easy. I recently lost a family member during the process, but I believe that this has been part of my personal growth as a person. Life teaches us that both good and bad moments are driving forces behind our work.
I have decided to name the sculpture "The Old Guard" as it represents the gatekeeper between this world and the spirit world.

The story of The Old Guard revolves around a robot that protects the sacred grounds between the spirit world and Earth. When my father passed away during the creation of this sculpture, I had no name or story tied to it. I only knew it was a symbol of protection. Going through the process of life and death, I realized the sculpture is a symbol of my connection to that world and here, and there’s always someone there looking out for you.
