Today, Team ENOUGH founding member and gun violence survivor @aalayah.eastmond joined @senatormartinheinrich , @senmarkkelly & @senatorbennet for a press conference in support of the #GOSAFEAct. This bill works to regulate firearms based on the unusual lethality of their internal mechanisms, which would prevent access to firearms like the one used in Parkland, Florida, where in just six and a half minutes, 17 people were killed, including 14 students. Aalayah, who survived the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas, recounted her experience in effort to show that weapons designed for battlefields do not belong in our communities. The GOSAFE Act is a common sense solution deserving of bipartisan support.

Today is Mother’s Day. On this day, and every day, we honor the moms who have lost children to gun violence, the moms we have lost too soon, and the moms fighting to create a safer future for generations to come. The best way to honor the people who raised us and the families we are building is to protect them. Quietly, consistently, and without exception. If there is a firearm in your home, make sure it is stored safely: locked, unloaded, and separate from ammunition. Thank you, moms. Happy Mother's Day!

Ahmaud Arbery should be celebrating his 32nd birthday today. Yet in 2020, he was killed in a racially motivated shooting while in his neighborhood. We #HonorWithAction by demanding systemic change to address racism, violence, and an end to "kill first, ask questions later" gun culture.

Today is the National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls. Gun violence kills 75 indigenous women each year. We must recognize how Indigenous women and girls are disproportionately impacted by gun violence. #DisarmHate

Teachers play a critical role in educating our youth. Yet, gun violence has too often forced teachers to focus on protecting students from gun violence. In honor of #TeacherAppreciationDay, share messages about the importance of secure firearm storage to keep communities safe!

For almost a century, Congress has banned the general public from using the U.S. Postal Service to mail handguns. It's a common-sense way to prevent gun trafficking, theft, and the shipment of firearms to people who aren't legally allowed to have them. Now, after the Dept. of Justice unilaterally decided this law is unconstitutional, the USPS is considering allowing the general public to ship handguns through everyday mail, needlessly endangering postal workers and the public. Tell USPS to reject this dangerous proposal! Take action at bradyunited.org/usps.

We’re proud to be a member of the CalVIP Coalition — the nation’s largest coalition of community violence intervention (CVI) groups, and a huge part of why California is becoming safer. Today, we’re joining the call for $55 million in CalVIP funding to sustain this life-saving program. #FundCalVIP

Team ENOUGH members are meeting with lawmakers in Boston today to advocate for common-sense solutions to gun violence. Gun violence is the leading cause of death for young people in America. Elected officials need to hear directly from us. Taking action cannot wait!
