We’re seeing gun safety victories across the country!
In Illinois: Governor Pritzker signed Karina’s Bill into law, which will ensure that firearms are relinquished by those subject to a domestic violence restraining order. This is a lifesaving measure that will make it easier to disarm domestic violence.
In Colorado: SB25-003 is moving forward, restricting access to weapons that accept high-capacity magazines and making mass shootings even more deadly. This is a critical step in preventing future tragedies.
In Hawai’i: Key gun safety bills— on items including a secure storage requirement, strengthening the state’s assault weapons ban, and the creation of an Office of Gun Violence Prevention—are advancing in the legislature.
In Virginia: 28 gun safety bills passed through their original chambers, with 11 ready to head to the Governor’s desk—including bans on assault weapons and ghost guns, plus secure storage requirements. This is real progress toward a safer Virginia.
These victories prove that change happens when we take action. Gun violence is preventable, and at the state level, we are making real progress toward saving lives. Let’s keep going!
This is something we all need to be concerned about. This is much bigger than Mel Gibson or the gun rights of one individual. And if you want to know who benefits from domestic abusers getting guns, all you need to do is follow the money.
There are tens of millions of people who are prohibited from buying guns in the U.S. — that’s a big, untapped market for the gun industry which has been experiencing declining sales. And the more money the gun industry makes, the more money they can throw at politicians like Donald Trump, increase their political influence, and fuel more reckless policies. It’s a vicious cycle.

This is a historic day for Virginians. I grew up in the Commonwealth and raised my daughters here, and in all my years of leading Brady, I have never been more hopeful than I am today. These monumental laws represent countless families spared from unspeakable heartbreak. #ElectionsMatter
56 years ago today, city and state police at Jackson State College in Mississippi confronted a group of students. Hours later, after midnight, the police opened fire, killing two students and injuring twelve others.
We remember and honor Phillip Lafayette Gibbs and James Earl Green.
This week, we’re revisiting an episode of our podcast, Red, Blue, and Brady, about the history of the Jackson State shooting. https://bit.ly/4dqHHyU
Four years ago today, 10 people were senselessly shot and killed at the Tops Supermarket in Buffalo, NY. All of the victims were Black.
We must take action to address white supremacy and ban assault weapons!
Proud to partner with the Illinois Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office and @AdCouncil for a new localized campaign to raise awareness about Firearm Restraining Orders — the IL version of Extreme Risk Protection Orders — and secure firearm storage.
Widespread awareness of these life-saving tools is crucial to #endfamilyfire and free America from gun violence.
Today is Mother’s Day. On this day, and every day, we honor the moms who have lost children to gun violence, the moms we have lost too soon, and the moms fighting to create a safer future for generations to come.
The best way to honor the people who raised us and the families we are building is to protect them. Quietly, consistently, and without exception. If there is a firearm in your home, make sure it is stored safely: locked, unloaded, and separate from ammunition.
Thank you, moms. Happy Mother's Day!
As we approach Mother’s Day, I’m holding in my heart the mothers and families across this country who are marking the day with a profound sense of loss due to gun violence.
We can honor mothers by taking sensible action, like securely storing firearms.

Ahmaud Arbery should be celebrating his 32nd birthday today. Yet in 2020, he was killed in a racially motivated shooting while in his neighborhood.
We #HonorWithAction by demanding systemic change to address racism, violence, and an end to "kill first, ask questions later" gun culture.
On May 6, 2023, 8 people were killed and 7 others were wounded at the Allen Premium Outlets in Allen, Texas. The shooter, a far-right extremist, was armed with 8 guns, including an AR-15.
We must do more to address our country’s easy access to firearms and the resulting gun violence crisis.
Today is the National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls.
Gun violence kills 75 indigenous women each year.
We must recognize how Indigenous women and girls are disproportionately impacted by gun violence. #DisarmHate
