🎶 Before The Five Heartbeats… there were the groups who lived the story.
The Five Heartbeats was heavily inspired by the journey of legendary groups like The Dells, and reflects the experiences many Black vocal groups faced during the 1960s and beyond.
The harmonies.
The brotherhood.
The talent.
The struggle.
The racism.
The exploitation.
The romantic relationships.
The touring.
The sex, drugs & rock and roll.
The sacrifices behind the spotlight.
Groups like The Temptations, The Four Tops, The Jackson 5, and The Dells helped shape the sound of an era and the foundation of modern Black music.
Their influence still echoes through generations.
Join us for a special screening of The Five Heartbeats during its 35th anniversary celebration — a film that continues to resonate because the story behind it was so true. 🎬✨
