It’s National Teacher Appreciation Week! 🎉
We are grateful for the amazing teachers on the @yellowhab staff and around our community. This week we’ll be highlighting our team to honor all of the work they do daily to make HAB a special environment for our explorers 💜.
Good News 🗞️ We’ve extended our lottery deadline to MAY 11th @ 11:59PM|ET to give you more time in entering the 2026-2027 @yellowhab school enrollment lottery. All information can be found on /yellowhab. 💛
Participants selected for a slot at @yellowhab will be notified on Tuesday, May 11th after the lottery is run at 12:00PM|ET.

Last weekend, some of our explorers participated in a Sneaker Design Workshop hosted at @virginiamoca đź‘ź
Led by professional streetwear designer @mxatrx , participants sketched, designed, and prototyped their own custom sneakers! They began in the museum galleries, exploring work by artist-designers to gather inspiration and study their visual strategies. Then headed to the studio for design demonstrations, where they sketched their ideas and brought them to life on a real pair of sneakers using industry standard materials like heat-transfer vinyl.
By the end of the workshop, every participant will left with a one-of-a-kind pair of Nike Air Force 1s and a glimpse into creative careers in art, fashion, and design. 🎨
Creativity needs space, time, and an environment that offers space for thoughts and ideas to evolve. Nurturing creatives in all ways makes for a community of diverse perspectives that makes rich conversation and collective movement possible 🙌🏾.
