EVERYDAY MONUMENTS — RECAP
Art didn’t stay on the wall… it moved.
Shoutout to the students who showed up and created.
Shoutout to the parents who made space for it.
Shoutout to @virginiamoca for letting us take over.
Gallery → sketch → real, wearable product.
Monuments don’t have to sit still.
They can live on your feet.
This is bigger than sneakers.
This is process, confidence, and ownership—real time.
We’re just getting started. @odysee.ed

Run Your Story + Richmond Health & Fitness Expo — Final Recap. 🎥 @tristan.langhorne
This was the moment.
Our students got to step out, show their work, and really be seen.
Final designs on display. Community showing love. Families pulling up.
That’s what this is about.
Grateful for every single person who gave their time, energy, and knowledge to pour into these kids.
Mentors, staff, volunteers, families — it doesn’t happen without y’all.
Proud of all 10 students for finishing what they started and standing on their ideas.
This was bigger than sneakers.
This was confidence, exposure, and real opportunity in real time.
We’re building something real @ymcarichmond 💡
Being part of the Los Angeles Rams Black History Month campaign means a lot to me..
Los Angeles shaped how I see design — the movement, the systems, the culture layered on top of each other. Setting the Standard lives at that intersection: honoring Black history while keeping it present, human, and forward-moving.
Returning to this city through this work feels full circle. Not just professionally, but personally. A chance to contribute to the visual language for an NFL team and a place that played a role in my creative foundation.
Grateful for the trust.
Grateful for the opportunity. @the7iren@rams
Always mindful of the legacy behind the work.

We have to protect @mxatrx at all costs. He’s pouring into the next generation of sneaker designers and giving these kids a space to create freely. Watching their imagination come to life on a pair of Air Force 1s was something special. Grateful I got to witness it firsthand. Now… we just need to convince him to host one for the adults next.
EVERYDAY MONUMENTS — @yellowhab@team_yellow
Art didn’t stay on the wall… it moved.
Students from YellowHab and across the city came together and turned ideas into something real.
Gallery → sketch → wearable product.
Different perspectives. Same energy.
Monuments don’t have to sit still.
They can live on your feet.
This is what it looks like when creativity meets opportunity.
We’re building more than workshops.
We’re building access.
More soon. 🎥 @tristan.langhorne
Last weekend, some of our explorers participated in a Sneaker Design Workshop hosted at @virginiamoca 👟
Led by professional streetwear designer @mxatrx , participants sketched, designed, and prototyped their own custom sneakers! They began in the museum galleries, exploring work by artist-designers to gather inspiration and study their visual strategies. Then headed to the studio for design demonstrations, where they sketched their ideas and brought them to life on a real pair of sneakers using industry standard materials like heat-transfer vinyl.
By the end of the workshop, every participant will left with a one-of-a-kind pair of Nike Air Force 1s and a glimpse into creative careers in art, fashion, and design. 🎨
Run Your Story — Final Day.
10 students.
Ideas turned into real concepts.
From blank shoes to full stories.
Proud of every single one of y’all for locking in and finishing strong. That’s what it’s about.
Big love to the @ymcarichmond for trusting the vision and creating space for this.
Appreciate every family, mentor, staff member and supporter who showed up and poured into this experience.
This wasn’t just a workshop — this was proof of what happens when creativity meets opportunity.
We’re just getting started.
Next year is going to be different.

From sketch to shape — students learned how real sneakers are designed.
At the @ymcarichmond students went beyond drawing and stepped into the process used by real footwear designers. Using custom lasts, outsole references, and tape-up techniques, they translated their ideas from paper into physical form.
This is where creativity meets structure.
This is where ideas become real.

Student Case Study:
Chun-Li wasn’t just the reference — She became the blueprint.
From Street Fighter to sneaker, this student translated character into color, energy, and design decisions you can actually see in the final piece.
At @ymcarichmond Run Your Story, it’s not just about making something look good — it’s about understanding your inspiration and building from it with intention.
We asked students to break down their process, and this is what came out of it: clarity, confidence, and real creative thinking.
This is what it looks like when identity meets design.

Real students. Real process. Real story.

We didn’t just look at sneakers… we tore them apart. 👟🔥
This week at @ymcarichmond Run Your Story, students deconstructed New Balance running shoes with @minne_miraaa to understand how performance design actually works—from cushioning to structure to runner type.
Design isn’t just what you see. It’s what you build.
Next up… they create their own. 👀
