Sleeping Garden • 2024 Todays Masters Meet Tomorrows Talents organized by @homofaber at @cromwellplace from 14-19 May during @londoncraftweek with a scenography by @apsara.studio 20 co-creations handcrafted by international craft talents and European master artisans, participants of the first edition of Homo Faber Fellowship. The journey to making this piece has been such an amazing experience. The last 7 months I had been taking part in The Homo Faber Fellowship, along with master artisan @SashaSykes . The fellowship gave fellows like me the opportunity to work in a studio alongside a master artist and learn with them, developing a co-created object using the knowledge you gain during the fellowship. I gained so many new designing and technical skills and its such a difference looking back to where I was 7 months ago. Under Sasha’s guidance and with the support of The Michelangelo Foundation, I designed and created this piece here. Materials: Bio-based resin, foraged plant material, copper wire, wood, straw   Sleeping Garden is a functional headboard and artwork representing the circular nature of life, constantly evolving and transforming.  Made from a bio-based resin with submerged locally foraged plant materials and copper wire sculptures, it’s function is to create a dreamlike world that brings elements of nature into an interior space, improving connection to nature and enhancing your sleep. The sculptures of animalistic and humanoid figures in the object give a reminder that we share our planet with other life. The Fellowship is developed by @homofaber in partnership with @jaegerlecoultre and local members of the Foundation’s international network @contemporaneadeartesyoficios @theocharakis_foundation @ceartept @dccireland @now.nowerzemioslo together with @ passaaofuturo and the academic partner @essecbs   Photo Credit: Christian Sinibaldi©Michelangelo Foundation #homofaberfellowship
