And it’s so good, you guys!

On Oct 27, 2021, we had a table read for a movie I’d written about the ghosts and dark beings who haunt us, and the hope of overcoming those deeply personal things that cast a shadow on our lives. And today, it is available for all of you to enjoy. Movies are impossible magic. They come into existence through tears, sweat, & blood of the filmmakers who put themselves thru the odyssey because, well, we love it.
I got to direct one of my absolute idols, Doug Jones. A thing I’d never have dared dream. I got to work with Hollywood royalty Adrienne Barbeau. I watched Vivica Fox perform dialogue I wrote without missing a beat. I learned how effortlessly good Tom Virtue is and how much fun he had getting turned into a ghoul.
I am grateful to every person involved in this film. Jim (my co-host), Chad (film brother), Ren (dear little sister), Jon Kline, Laurel, Jeff, Michelle (my daughter), Irina (our movie mom), Sullivan (the most famous extra), Amber, Courtney (my Sunset sister), Joy, Ben, Jacquelyn, Dawn, Ron, Darrel, Phil, Clayton, Gabriel, Jon Keel, Andy, Steve, Fionn, Leia, and Ryan and Forrest. Luke Murray and the team he led did things with sound that made every moment of this movie breathe. Barry gave us a chilling, kickass score. Devin Dalool is the best focus in the biz. I wouldn’t want to make a movie without him.
I couldn’t have done this without Matt Rasku behind the camera working side-by-side with me thru every single frame. Dustyn Gulledge accepted the challenge of becoming Miles Mako. He built a vulnerable, driven, stubborn hero that is so much more than I could have dreamed. Eugene Young took Pin and made him more than a sidekick but an equal to Miles and so much cooler than I thought possible. And Dani Scott made this all happen. She will refuse to accept the praise, but it is pure fact. Without her, there would not be THE DEMON DETECTIVE. Thank you for believing in my script and taking on the enormous responsibility and struggle to produce it. And a heartfelt thank you to Jordon Foss for seeing the potential of this movie.
