From the sublime to the ridiculous and all points in between, Happy Birthday my first little playmate. You are a spectacular woman and a great friend. Proud of you sis. @management11_official "Stormy Petrel" TC - childhood on the dunes.

There she is, dressed in scarlet and atmosphere. As glorious as a heavenly body can be.

Seriously - if I'd presented work like this in Sculpture class at NAS, Jim Croke and @davehortonsculpture would have shown me the door. And @anita_johnson_artist would have walked away in disgust. So how come surgeons make a fortune for this sort of construction and sculptors get a round of drinks at an exhibition? If they're lucky. #ouch #backtoworksoon

Creative Foundations, Blue Mts Cultural Centre... If you didn't make the opening and artists talk, there is only until the 5th to see the show. Chemistry. Treat yourself a martini and local produce platter at The Carrington while you're there. Or just a martini. 😊 Deep heart thanks to Harrie Fasher who brought us all together and gave us space to work, and Kim Fasher who curated. Sisters...none better. @harrie_fasher @kimosfash @annabelmasonart @jodyagraham @silversalt_photography @thefoundationsportland @bluemountainsculturalcentre And our beautiful, iconic Elisabeth Cummings.

One of those photos you are so glad you took. Last week of Creative Foundations at Blue Mountains Cultural Centre. See Elisabeth Cummings and Harrie Fasher along with others lucky enough to share their creative lives. Worth it. @harrie_fasher @annabelmasonart @kimosfash @silversalt_photography @jodyagraham @thefoundationsportland @bluemountainsculturalcentre

TC Overson is one of the most beautiful humans on the planet. Gentle, considerate, and kind; it was an honour to have her beside me as we built the Creative Foundations. She won the very first NAS/ Foundations Post Grad prize we awarded. Her work was a stand out, and her heart…. it leapt out! The well loved Squatters Residency grew under TC’s stewardship and the heritage BathHouse was transformed into the BathHouse Studios. Our creative community flourished under her thoughtful eye. Her installation captivates audiences with its intricacy and expansive beauty. The sculptures in conversation with her work are brought alive - TC’s plaster drawings generating energy and movement alongside intimate questioning. Thank you for joining us for the install and opening TC. It was so great to have your energy home in Portland! #CreativeFoundations @bluemountainsculturalcentre Open until October 6 @tc.notbroken #SquattersResidency #BathHouseStudios @thefoundationsportland Contact @artsoutwest for information about the residency! #FoundationsMentorship #NASFoundationsPrize 📸 @silversalt_photography 📸 portraits by KR. Just about over... It has been such a joy to be part of the wonderful Bathurst Regional Art Gallery for a couple of months. This is the final weekend. Sincere thanks to @museums_bathurst @camillegillyboeuf and her fabulous team, @thefoundationsportland , @harrie_fasher and #australianfossilandmineralmuseum director Penny Packham. Also to Kevin Spencer and @silversalt_photography for the images you caught.

Of all the old desks from NAS this one was delivered to The Foundations in Portland to be part of Harrie Fasher's studio...I recognised it immediately as my old Masters of Fine Art workbench. It had the markings I knew so well. Something guided it home.

I thought, what was needed was another yellow post. This one is specially for my sister, who has been stranded on a mountain for over a week without power or fresh groceries, as many still are thanks very much to Alfred. May the sunshine days return very soon, courageous ones. 💛💛💛

Before Colour... Ammonites are probably one of the most popular fossils - not rockstars like dinosaur skeletons, of course, but much older and much more beautiful. By their time, cells had not only built a protective structure that enclosed inner life from outer environments, but they had also learnt to specialise their purposes. And look what this critter did: took on the sacred spirals of galaxies and weather patterns and life yet to develop. Did they see whether they were grey or gold or brown or green? No. By the end of their 140 million years of existence they could probably perceive shades and movement though. Two versions of my take on these amazing sea creatures are on exhibition at #bathurstregionalartgallery until April 6. They sit alongside what inspired the work: 200-million-year-old fossils of once thriving sea-washed life (with thanks to the Australian Fossil and Mineral Museum).
