Waw. What an experience. I still can’t quite believe I can say I run the London Marathon. The greatest race on earth! The day before, I made a decision - this wasn’t about time. This wasn’t a race. This was for something far more important. This was for Dad. This was for raising awareness of a devastating disease, Alzheimer’s and dementia. My goal was simple, take in every second and smile every mile. For once, forget about pace and finish time (easier said than done for my silly competitive brain!) And that’s exactly what I did. I never stopped running, never hit the wall, never walked, never suffered. I just ran, smiled and enjoyed it (and ate so many carbs!) Every step, every cheer, every moment, every sign. Seeing my support crew (and a surprise appearance from uncle Dan!) around mile 11 was special 💙🥲 and from that point on I knew I had it. I’m not ashamed to say it - it just felt easy! The whole world behind you 🙌 My family have been incredible throughout. Their belief in me, and in this cause has meant everything. To everyone who donated, messaged, checked in, wished me luck or congratulated me, thank you. It genuinely meant the world. We’ve smashed the target, and donations are still coming in for Alzheimer’s Society. If you still want to donate, the link is in my bio 💙 Days like yesterday remind you what matters. It’s easy to get lost in the noise in this funny old world, but the support, the kindness, the atmosphere, it was overwhelming. Proof that there is so much good in the world.
