🎵 Like, comment and check out my bandcamp if you wanna hear more music from me! 💕 I started self-producing this original song of mine 'Battle With Myself' back in the summer. It's about my struggles with my mental health, especially related to singing and working on music. Thought I'd post this short demo video partially as a reminder to keep working on it. I also started a TikTok recently to post more of my creative projects like this. (There's a slightly longer version of this vid on that app). #singersongwriter #selfproduced #musicdemo #Indiesinger #QueerSinger #Nonbinary #nonbinaryfashion #songwriter #singer #queermusic #transsinger #songdemo #singing #mentalhealth #queerpop #queerfashion #diyartist #diymusic #bedroompop #indieproducer #indiemusic #songreels #music #song #vocalist #ADHDartist #independantmusic #vancouvermusic #queer #trans

There’s a certain humour in getting my first grant to record my song about giving up… Wait… what?!? A grant?! You heard that right! I’m a 2025 recipient of Creative BC’s Demo Grant. I got to record my songs Battle with Myself and Dust with the awesome, multi-instrumentalist producer Cat Hiltz @cat_hiltz at their home studio in the Fraser Valley. It was a delight to work with a producer like Cat in a recording studio to learn more about the process of professional music production and collaborate to fully bring these songs to life. Keep an eye out for the song releases, coming soon! (Plus more BTS footage coming to Youtube - go subscribe there - hint hint -) I first applied for this grant back in 2022 and it’s taken me many hurdles to consider applying for grants. If you’re an artist who’s considered applying for a grant, find out the yearly application opening window, do some research, get access to support resources where you can, and go apply! You can do it! - Ya plus de chances que tu penses, Souviens-toi quand tu gagnes “There’s more chances than you think, Remember when you win” Big thank yous and shout outs to producer @cat_hiltz and @thewanderingthistle for photography, video footage, driving, support & skill sharing Also, @creativebcs , BC, and @CityofVancouver for the funding and amplifying artist programs. (Let’s keep supporting artists, and funding access to financial, creative and community resources like these, instead of austerity measures that increase economic disparity, *right* @governmentofbc @cityofvancouver ? *right?* 😅) #amplifybc #listenbc #recordingstudio #creativebc #queerartist

My song Reach Out during the Trans March this year. I dedicate this song to trans, non-binary, 2spirit and gender non-conforming kin past, present and future. 🏳️‍⚧️ On a day like Trans Day Of Rememberance I think of those who are no longer with us, those doing their best to survive and how collectively we can come together to help eachother thrive. In our current era of backlash and scapegoating trans people, especially trans women of colour, I'm reminded of a quote about how they wouldn't feel threatened and fighting against us if we didn't hold power that shakes their worldview to its core. We are part of a strong history that has always existed and always will. 💗💙💗 Check out @sagah.ca for "BC" trans health care advocacy you can support! Thank you to grassroots community initiatives like the @vancouvertransmarch #TDOR #TransMusic #NonBinaryMusic #nonbinaryartist #transmarch

Memories from summer uploaded in winter. This summer was a revival for me. I started re-exploring and learning how to honour my current self and my queer masculinity (including pronoun update: they/he). I performed music multiple times again. I went to my first dance since the p@ndemic began after feeling betrayed by queer community and excluded from queer party spaces as an immunocompromised person. #stillmasking I sang masked for the first time, realizing though it is a bit more challenging, it is possible for me. I felt nurtured and surrounded by care I hadn't felt in so long, meeting and strengthening newer and existing friendships. In these winter times as snow melts into rain and so much feels challenging in the world, I'm sending out reminders of blooming summer energy. This time last year I didn't know it was possible to gain more hope than before, beyond what I had lost slowly as it slipped away. What has supported me?: Friendships, community, connections, creativity. Trans, queer, neurodivergent, disabled, covid-concious/ masking people. Your people are out there. Nurture and strengthen those reciprocal relationships you have. Keep seeking out others. We need you. We need eachother. 💙💗💜 #trans #transmasc #mask4mask #covidconscious #queer #transcommunity #nonbinary #genderqueer

A time of healing from burn out, break up. Renewal, rest, new energy and so much gratitude for the people who have come into my life since spring and those who continue to sustain me. Home and friendships began to feel like a 180 from where they had been. Some things improved beyond what I allowed myself to reach and dream for anymore. I realized how much hope and myself I had lost into others. The voice I was hibernating. Many knots to untangle but feels of delight fed me. I hope we all find ways to untangle ourselves from what doesn't serve us and find more of the people and circumstances that provide us with rest, recovery, hope, support, healing, freedom, peace, and growth capacity. We all deserve more than just survival. Art shown in image 2 by @grim_grim_art Image 10 by @jackeline.barragan1 Image 16: by @jackpagepress

It was around this time last year that flames of choas irrrupted in my personal life in ways they haven't to such a degree before. The weight of the world, the genocides, colonial and capitalist crimes escolating and pandemic continuing to ravage intermixed into the personal tornado surrounding me, my home life, relationships, community members and so many layers of trauma as I tried to shelter others from storms. I post these memories as some of the reminders of moments that kept me going through it all. Saying good grief to the end of that time period. In rage, strength, peace, power, powerlessness, hope, hopelessness, loss, love, care, care, care. 🍉☮🌍🏳️‍⚧️💕

We are part of nature. A humble reminder. 🧡 Relieved the air quality PM2.5 concentration is back within healthy levels in our area. Cherishing the sunny, mild weather of pre-autumn. Cozy season is arriving. 💚 ID: a log covered in bright orange fungus?/mushrooms? surrounded by ferns. #mushroomidentification #quote #reminder #coastsalishterritory #cozyseason #nature

You can now find prints/cards designed by me at @crossandcrows the new independent queer-owned bookstore in East Van on The Drive! A bright, cozy, quite bookshop I highly recommend checking out for new and used books. Edit: Events at Cross & Crows Books are mask mandatory and they do mask mandatory mondays at the shop. I'm also coordinating with the lovely shop owner to get other local especially queer artists stocked in the shop so more wonderful artists/makers' items coming soon (especially if you enjoy stickers *hint hint*). #EastVan #QueerCommunity #QueerVancouver #lgbt #CommercialDrive #supportlocal #supportartists #supportqueerartists #supportqueerbusiness #yvr #yvrlife #eastvanart #eastvancouver
