Year 2 of cosplaying as a European bike racer off to a great start. I got to race the last 2 stages of the Challenge Plana here in the region I live in Castellón and helped play a small role in landing the team in 3rd in the best team classification.

As a @sourceendurance coach, I spend a lot of time thinking about training and how to effective execute certain sessions. Sometimes it's as easy as "just ride your bike," other times we have to make educated guesses.
I wrote this blog post for @trainingpeaks for both coaches and athletes to try to put some thoughts into words. Sometimes it is easy to forget that we are training human physiology and not a power number. Power meters can take a lot of the guess work out of the process but sometimes the numbers don't tell the whole story.
When coaching an athlete, I try my best to impart why we do certain things beyond "make power number go up." Human physiology is extremely complex, and oftentimes there are so many variables involved no two athletes will get the same outcome. Most everything written in this article is practical theory and oftentimes science disproves itself every few years.

They say life is like a roller coaster, with many a up-in-downs, metaphorically speaking that is. Well this past weekend, I decided to make that metaphor my reality at @portaventuraworld and go ride a bunch of roller coasters in anticipation of my 33rd birthday. On the way home, we went for a nice hike and found some fresh pomegranates growing, never seen dem in the wild!
Todays my actual birthday, but it’s also a Monday so I’ll mostly just be working and taking care of bidness. Huge thank you to my wonderful wife @dana.warren25 for making my birthday weekend so special! 33 years around the sun has me feeling some type of way.
