Izhitsa is a typeface with a distinctly Slavic character. The kind you see on both taverns and funeral homes. Itâs pretty deeply engraved in the brain of every Bulgarian.
We used it as a starting point and adjusted it to match what Albena felt like while shooting Samurai Schwert. A has-been Soviet resort, slowly crumbling, but still holding on to a version of luxury that never really existed.

Truth in Abstract: Yung Hurn and Samuil Tatchevâs Duel of Honesty
Yung Hurn [@y.hurn ], an innovator and pioneer of German rap and German-speaking music, dropped a video for his song âSamurai Schwert.â Released under his project LOVE HOTEL BAND, itâs a family affair with legendary German producer Stickle [@__stickle__ ]. A slower, melancholic song, it showcases Yung Hurn is much more than just his trap sound. The keys that sit further back in the mix drive the production forward along with a melodic bass that stands out.
Paying homage to Chief Keef, Yung Hurnâs flow in the second verse takes on the flow of âLove Sosa.â Itâs an unexpected intersection with the Chicago legend. Coming back into the hook, the song is a tragic interpretation of poorly fated love and self-hatred.
Directed by Samuil Tatchev [@tatchev ], a Berlin-based director and DOP with an Eastern European background, the video is striking. From the framing that plays with focus to a storyline that breaks free from a three-act cliche, it pairs wonderfully with the track. Fencing stands as a way to illustrate no matter what situation Yung Hurn is inâwhether thinking by the pool or relaxing on the couchâhe canât seem to move past these inner struggles with love.
The videoâs style makes sense given Samuilâs focus on composition and set design. The beautiful reds and greens with a pop of yellow in one of the closing shots and the use of foreground to build complexity highlights this. Abstract storytelling converges with Yung Hurnâs lyricism: a protective measure to shy away from confrontation.
The track captures the wave of isolation thatâs integrated itself into society post-Covid. It makes sense why the song resonates with so many, quickly rising to Yung Hurnâs top release.

Dhammakaya Temple in Pathum Thani, Thailand
Sanctuary of spirituality, object of controversy and an architectural beast, Dhammakaya temple combines endless geometrical minimalism with ancient Buddhist principles.
At the center of the complex is a massive, dome-shaped stupa clad in over 300,000 Buddha statues, surrounded by a circular plaza capable of hosting a million people, creating a feeling of limitless space.
While not entirely hidden from the public, entering the complex is fairly intimidating and mystical, with multiple temple members offering to follow you and give you directions, creating a constant feeling of surveillance. Due to the controversial story of the temple leader and his ideology, there are many organizations against Dhammakaya's existance, therefore the staff will thoroughly check your intentions and hesitate to grant access, but once you're in, you have the freedom to explore with no limitations.
The sheer scale of the complex is hard to put into words and requires multiple hours to walk around.
