It’s a perfect day to enjoy a stroll at @a2market ! Renew your vegetable supply with fresh Asparagus, Rhubarb, Spinach, Green Onions, Fresh Herbs, and Ramps! We will also have potatoes, squash and carrots from our storage crops. If you’re looking for more than produce, stop by the Sunflower 🌻 Farm Market at @washtenawfoodhub ! We have staples like sunflower oil, popcorn, meat, milk, bread, snacks, and even a few prepared food dishes from Ann Arbor Tortilla Factory, Harvest Kitchen, Ginger Deli, The Brinery, and so much more! Don’t forget that Sunday is our SPRING FLING event at the @washtenawfoodhub from 10 AM to 4 PM with kid activities, food, food, artisan, vendors, a live beehive, and so much more! Unlike your parents, mushrooms do have favorites. For the full moon on May 1, we explored the theme of COMMUNITY, and Richard Andres gave me a tour of @tantrefarm to forage for the spring arrivals of mushrooms, ramps, and nettles, and teach me about mycelium - natures reminder everything is connected. Then, @parisasplates gave me tips on simple ways to transform the haul into delightful dishes for us to enjoy at The Open Spoon - a potluck of nature, food, and stories that I host every full moon at the @washtenawfoodhub . The weather is a bit cooler today but at least it’s not raining all day! We even captured a rainbow while planting onions yesterday in between the showers! We’d love to see you at the @a2market today! We have fresh spinach, collard greens, mushrooms 🍄‍🟫 , green garlic, storage carrots 🥕 , potatoes 🥔 , squash, but the ramps have already sold out! Only a few more weeks and we’ll be at the market on Wednesdays again with lots more food to feed you! Our Summer CSA is still open for sign up too until May 23, so still time to get a box of food for the summer! If you can’t make it to the Ann Arbor Farmer’s Market today or prefer an inside shopping experience, consider coming to the Sunflower 🌻 Farm Market at the @washtenawfoodhub in Ann Arbor. The market is open Saturdays and Sundays from 9AM-5PM and offers a wide variety of local items for purchase, we also have quite a few local events scheduled that you may want to attend! The warm weather seems to speed up time as we watch colors paint the landscape. It’s hard to believe that this is the last Immune Booster share in April with the final four weeks in May to follow! Starting May 30, our Immune Booster shares will be replaced with the Tantre Produce Box for June through October, which mimics the Summer CSA box menu. Classic Portuguese and Spanish cooking has long paired shellfish with pork. This is that instinct, run through a wood-fire lens. Three seared u-10 scallops over squid ink risotto, topped with whipped n’duja and house giardiniera. A castelvetrano beurre blanc ties it together; briny, lightly citrusy, and rich enough to hold the heat and smoke of the n’duja without losing the sweetness of the scallop.
