Unfortunately, I have received the sad news that
@cyberdantas one of our Talking Cypher guests
@chegaqueecerto has passed away.
My deepest condolences go out to her family, friends and the Hip Hop community in Joao Pessoa (Brazil).
Cyber was a writer and is a co-founder of the grafitepraiba collective, which, amongst other things, professionalizes female writers. In the Talking Cypher, she talked about her experiences with capoeira and how the Mestre pushed and motivated her to join the roda. This was a response to a statement of
@isisgranda , who talked about her first cypher experiences. One of her wishes in founding the collective was to promote communication about the artform, as it had always been an important part of her family.
I'm very happy that Cyber had the opportunity to tell her story in the Talking Cypher. This shows once again how important it is to talk to each other and reach out to one another. Behind every person in our scene there is a motivating and inspiring story. Let's tell these stories. Especially the stories of those who are no longer with us.
Rest in Heaven, Cyber.
