🌛 HEAVEN’S CRY MAKES ITS COMEBACK FOR PROGSTORM FESTIVAL 2026!
As we continue unveiling the 2026 lineup, we are honoured to welcome a band that helped shape Quebec’s modern progressive scene,
@heavenscryband !
Formed by vocalist and guitarist Pierre St Jean (
@nonhuman_era ,
@alcoholica__band , and ex-
@voivodofficial as session musician) and vocalist and bassist
@sylvain.auclair (
@theanchoretofficial ,
@karciusmusic ), the band quickly stood out with their dual vocal approach and distinctive blend of progressive rock and metal. Their debut Food for Thought Substitute first appeared in Japan in 1996, earning a place among Burrn Magazine’s top metal albums of the year before reaching Europe and Canada. With René Lacharité (Necrotic Mutation) on drums and
@ericjarrin Jarrin (
@despisedicon ) on guitar, they expanded their sound on Primal Power Addiction, leading them to major stages including
@progpower Europe two times in 2002 and 2012, and
@progpowerusa in 2013.
After a long break, Heaven’s Cry returned with renewed focus, releasing Wheels of Impermanence in 2012 and the ambitious conceptual album Outcast in 2016. These records explored themes of resilience, transformation and the human condition, supported by intricate arrangements, strong melodies and a powerful narrative sense.
Now, after several years away from the stage, Heaven’s Cry is ready to step back into the spotlight, and we are proud to host their return at ProgStorm 2026.
