Tomorrow, we are heading to the OAEA Make It Matter Conference as guest speakers, and we couldn’t be more excited.
Through our collaborative practice @sweetthingscollective , we’ve spent years thinking about how art can build relationships across communities, how mapping, mark-making, and storytelling create space for connection around queer ecology, environmental justice, and belonging. Getting to bring that conversation into a room full of art educators feels genuinely meaningful.
See you Saturday!

Syzygy - Objects As Companions For Travel Through a World That Misreads Us. A tour through the exhibition on now at El Museo de Artes Mazatlan. It’s been an honour and pleasure to co-curate, along with James Fowler, this second year of Syzygy, focusing on 2SLGBTQIA+ rights, with curators Melissa La Porte, Cesar Forero and Virginia M Eichhorn. Being in Mazatlan with Cesar and Melissa has been wonderful, working so well together. Meeting Syzygy’s organizer, host and artist, the gracious and dynamic Dory Perdomo has been wonderful!! Mazatlan is spectacular! Thanks to all the artists whose work has made the show very powerful!
Prepping for Mexico. @pearlvangeest and @jamesfowlerart putting the final curitorial touches on a new exhibition, Objects as Companions for Travel Through a World That Misreads Us, part of the SYZYGY Project, opening February 6 @museodeartedemazatlan #queerart ##sweetthings
