🍬 sweet. @ Boogie Apr 23 🔍 artist spotlight Jana Greenstone @janagreenstone Jana Greenstone is a DJ and producer residing in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. She places significant focus on techno and DnB, while also working within the realms of jungle, breaks, house, and UKG. Her sets capture the diverse sounds of the electronic landscape, spanning from dark and hypnotic with gritty industrial undertones, to groovy and full of bounce with the colouring of lush analog elements. Jana’s productions demonstrate a dedication to exploring different styles and sounds and have been released on labels such as Lazuli Records (including the Lazuli Black and Lazuli Red sublabels), The Acid Mind Recordings, Crisis of Man, Black Square Recordings, Ekstasis, and Omen Recordings. In 2023, along with Pachelle, Jana co-founded ‘Common Ground’, a project that has grown to encompass events, performances, and record releases. Common Ground Records has released three EPs and a single to date, featuring Lightstar, Trading Fours, Jomari, and Jana Greenstone herself. More recently Jana, Pachelle and Mr. Brown have joined forces in Toronto as ‘PB&J’. As a DJ, her sound ebbs and flows between deep and soulful drum’n’bass to rough and rugged jungle, endeavouring to tell a story with every set and mix. She is a big fan of long blends and letting tracks breathe. - fka on road. this last year has been really special. From bringing some jungle to a house music live stream with the Pregame and throwing down with the NXLVL crew. To our first collaboration event with Wheel Up and our first lineup takeover for Roost Radio. We have been blessed to have been a part of some very sweet parties this year. we want to start this post off by saying thank you to every single person who has attended, performed and volunteered for our events in the last couple years. We are so grateful to have been able to throw these parties and create these memories with all of you. On Road has achieved what we set out to achieve and provided Toronto with another space for the genres that we love and the artists and DJs we believe bring the best of what Toronto has to offer in the underground music scene. We also realized that we are limited by sticking with the UK branding in our name and our ability to represent our city, friends and attendees’ wants and needs. On Road will continue as a party we throw that showcases the community and love of the UK sound but moving forward we wanted to create something more representative of our diverse music tastes and our home Toronto, Canada. It’s with this in mind we have decided to change our operational name to: sweet. what won’t be changing is our mission to continue supporting & showcasing local artists, fostering collaboration and always putting the community first, ensuring our events are accessible & inclusive. we have so much planned that we are so looking forward to share with you all over the next little bit - keep your eyes peeled here for updates and sign up for our mailing link in our bio! huge shoutout to @dajenesis for the logo design.
