🦸 🦹 “Your #1 Fans” celebrates animators’ inspirations and their nostalgia through fan art and fandom alongside personal stories of their emotional connections to these beloved works. Creating fan art is an entry point to artmaking for so many young artists, as it shapes and commits them to practicing their craft. The exhibition also features a merch table, often known as artist alley table at conventions, highlighting independently made works inspired by fandoms.
🧝 🐉 Featuring prints, videos, photographs, costumes, and merchandise by 55 BFA Animation and BFA 3D Animation and Visual Effects students and faculty members, the exhibition was co-curated by Ash Suh (MFA 2024 Computer Arts), BFA 3D Animation and Visual Effect front office manager, and Angelica Vergel, BFA Animation director of operations.

“Compounding Interest” explores how ideas, materials, and experiences accumulate through repetition and experimentation, reflecting the emotional threshold of graduating in turbulent times. The works on view are shaped by personal, societal, and geographical influences, revealing how individual perspectives are informed by broader collective conditions. Through processes of layering, revision, and sustained inquiry, small gestures evolve into complex visual statements that question authorship, responsibility, and belonging. Together, the exhibition invites reflection on the tension between the individual “I” and the collective “we,” considering how these artists negotiate identity, community, and agency at a moment of profound transition.

Happy Earth Day! 🌎️ ♻️ In honor of today, we're taking a look back at "Plasticulture: The Rise of Sustainable Practices with Polymers," an exhibition of works made of plastic waste, curated by @aurorarobson . In these works, the use of waste as a nontraditional material not only imbues the plastic with a new purpose and prevents it from entering the natural environment, but also leads to intentional and unexpected compositions.
