Bereaved parents, children, a 102-year-old Holocaust survivor, breast cancer survivors, children with disabilities, models in wheelchairs, mental health advocates, a woman with a bionic hand, another who had survived a stroke and models of all shapes and sizes - I am the proudest woman to have once again had the privilege of hosting the
@giftcharity fashion show.
Having spent much of my career writing on body positivity and speaking out against toxic trends, tonight was all about embracing our beauty from within and boy did our models shine.
In a world of fake and filtered social media our event proved that real beauty is the kind that radiates from the inside out. Tonight we removed the stereotype of what a ātraditional modelā should look like and celebrated female empowerment as it should be. Authentic and real. I truly believe that we rise by lifting others and tonight we did that in abundance. To all our models and the 400-plus guests that came, my sincere thanks.
A special mention to
@amytappsx who spoke so openly and beautifully about her weight-loss journey; you shone like a diamond! And
@tyhforori the courage you had to walk the catwalk after the loss of your beautiful baby boy had me bursting with pride at you. Super grateful to be amongst such beautiful and heartwarming people.
A huge shout out to my glam squad
@itsdanilevi who gave me the best glow up &
@secretspauk for the much needed fake tan and
@anniemaedawes lashes. And wow
@hob_salons the glass hair treatment truly works!
