What an absolute pleasure to welcome over 200 guests to @padiumuk & host our second celebrity padel charity event for @griefencounter 🙌🏻 Thankyou so much to all the celebrities, players, guests & amazing sponsors that pulled out all the stops and padel shots to make this event so successful! The high energy, competition, friendship and love in the air was electric. And with every penny raised from the day going towards supporting bereaved children, it really warmed my heart to see this was padel for a purpose that is vitally important. When my grandmother, my father’s mother, died from breast cancer 50 years ago, my father became a breast cancer specialist, determined to help women fight a battle against a disease which he watched her suffer from in agony. As a top specialist in the field, and head of the team that invented the drug tamoxifen, his work in the cancer world made me aware of the importance of his job. I came to understand the way the disease effects not only the patient, but their loved ones too. Growing up it put fire in my belly to support as many cancer charities as I could. And through my work as a health writer I have always been determined to cover as many stories as possible, to highlight the numerous cancer charities doing such incredible work. Today, like so many other spectators, I watched in immense pride at my son running the @londonmarathon for @chaicancercare - one of the cancer charities my father was a medical patron of. A charity that has not only supported so many people I know who have sadly been affected by cancer, but one that is at the heart of my community. Today it felt, in some small way, that the work my father has been so passionate about for almost five decades had in a tiny way come full circle. Every step Zack ran, I know he was helping the future steps of cancer patients. Congratulations to everyone who ran today. And to those of you who sponsored Zack, our IMMENSE thanks 🙏He didnt just reach his goal, he exceeded it….. & some!! Four hours and 29 minutes. I am one proud mama. ❤️ . . #londonmarathon

Bereaved parents, children, a 102-year-old Holocaust survivor, breast cancer survivors, children with disabilities, models in wheelchairs, mental health advocates, a woman with a bionic hand, another who had survived a stroke and models of all shapes and sizes - I am the proudest woman to have once again had the privilege of hosting the @giftcharity fashion show. Having spent much of my career writing on body positivity and speaking out against toxic trends, tonight was all about embracing our beauty from within and boy did our models shine. In a world of fake and filtered social media our event proved that real beauty is the kind that radiates from the inside out. Tonight we removed the stereotype of what a “traditional model” should look like and celebrated female empowerment as it should be. Authentic and real. I truly believe that we rise by lifting others and tonight we did that in abundance. To all our models and the 400-plus guests that came, my sincere thanks. A special mention to @amytappsx who spoke so openly and beautifully about her weight-loss journey; you shone like a diamond! And @tyhforori the courage you had to walk the catwalk after the loss of your beautiful baby boy had me bursting with pride at you. Super grateful to be amongst such beautiful and heartwarming people. A huge shout out to my glam squad @itsdanilevi who gave me the best glow up & @secretspauk for the much needed fake tan and @anniemaedawes lashes. And wow @hob_salons the glass hair treatment truly works! Thrilled to say we raised £52,610 at our celebrity charity padel event for @griefencounter on Friday! 🥳 I am absolutely blown away. Thankyou SO MUCH to everyone who came to our fun day of padel @padiumuk and helped raise funds for such a vital charity supporting bereaved children and young people. The charity’s mission is to give every child and young person access to the best possible support following the death of someone close and this staggering amount raised will continue to help ensure such important work is done. Just WOW. Padel charity events certainly rock and I feel lucky to have made a whole new bunch of friends through helping to host this special event for a second time 🙏 Feeling full of gratitude to the celebrities, sponsors and players who came and, on a personal note, to get to work with such a phenomenal charity & hard-working committee helping to change lives means the world to me ❤️

Really chuffed to be shortlisted as a finalist in the @britishpadelawards influencer of the year category. For someone who came last at every school sports day race, this is not something my younger self would have ever imagined. I couldn’t have made it this far without my wonderful padel community of girls whom I play with on repeat. And the charities who have asked me to host their events, along with the numerous padel brands & clubs I’m lucky to partner with. I have been very honest about suffering from a panic disorder in recent months that comes out of nowhere & I know the power of sport is one step in battling mental health. For me, padel has not just been good in strengthening my body but it’s been a saviour in keeping my mindset calm. If anything, I hope that by being open about how padel has helped me conquer my panic attacks, would have influenced people to never shy away from talking about their feelings. And, maybe along the way, taken up padel to see what the buzz is all about! Thanks to everyone who took the time to vote for me. It’s truly, truly appreciated. And well done to all of those who made the final shortlist 🙏
