'We've got to remember that seeking safety is a human right enshrined in international law. Migration is not a crime.' 📣 On Saturday, we joined @sutrexeter and organisations from across Devon to oppose far right and anti immigration rhetoric and say loud and clear: 'Exeter is for Everyone'. 💚 Tash shared a little bit about what this meant for Refugee Support Devon following our recent trip to Parliament!

Three weeks ago, Refugee Support Devon stood alongside @citizens.uk , @praxis_uk and organisations across the UK to advocate for our clients in Parliament. This week, we need YOU to stand with us here at home. Far-right groups are once again attempting to spread hate and division in Devon this Saturday. Let’s show up for our community and stand in solidarity with refugees, migrants and people seeking safety, saying loud and clear: "Exeter is for Everyone." Community only works if we show up for each other. 🤝 🗓️ Saturday 4th April 🕑 10am 📍 Bedford Square

My second ever speech at Stand Up To Racism Exeter’s counter protest today ✊🏻 These protests are so so so important for our communities that feel alienated by the constant rhetoric that they’re up against. Spread love, fight fascism. 💖 #yourpartynorthdevon #yourparty #sutr #exeterisforeveryone #standuptoracism

On Saturday, the people of Exeter once again gathered together to say loud and clear that racism and division has no place in our city. For the second time in less than a month, a far-right ‘unity’ march made its way through the city bearing Union Flags and shouting abuse. And, for the second time in less than a month, 1000+ people came out to counter-protest and celebrate the diversity that makes this city great. Attending these demonstrations is important, but it’s also heartening to be surrounded by the love and acceptance which makes this city a wonderful place to live. Whilst we should not have to counter-demonstrate against a small group of people (less than 100) spreading hate, we will continue to show up time and time again, for as long as it’s needed, to reiterate the message that Exeter is for Everyone. #ExeterIsForEveryone

We’re playing in Exeter again and for a very worthy cause!! This Sunday coming, 30th November at Exeter library, to celebrate diversity and enjoy some good times together! Thanks @exeter.library and @sutrexeter for organising this, we can’t wait to be there and bring some tarantella vibe to our beloved city ❤️ The event is free, starting at 12.30. We should be on around 13.30, but highly recommended to hang out the whole afternoon, not to miss some other incredible acts! See you there with your dancing shoes and an intention to celebrate freedom and resistance together 💃🏽✊🏽❤️🥁✊🏽

Amazing speech from our weekly protest outside of the Hampton by Hilton Hotel! This one got even better but you'll have to be there to find out what the atmosphere is really like 🎶 As long as the far right are harassing vulnerable people; our friends in Exeter and those our country has a duty to protect, we will be there. Come to see us at the Hampton by Hilton every Saturday from 11am. Get involved and protect our community!

"Never consider yourself to be alone". 💫 Neomi shares a message of hope to asylum seekers today outside a Devon contingency accommodation hotel housing women, children, and families seeking safety. Her words stand in contrast to the misplaced hate and anger of ongoing weekly anti-immigration protests, offering instead a message of kindness, understanding, and hope. ❤️ 👀 Follow @sutrexeter to stay up to date with hotel protests. 🕊️ Can't show up in solidarity in person but want to support from afar? Visit .uk to find out how you can help us in supporting people seeking safety in Devon. #SeekingSafety #RighttoRemain #HopenotHate #refugeeswelcome #Devon #migrantjustice
