A special tribute poetry “Tagore Di Bani” was written by a member of our #SurtalSouthAsianCommunityChoir, Arvinder Singh, in honour of #rabindrajayanti. Music and the lyrics were composed by this talented man with assistance from @kamalbirnandra , Thank you Kamalbir Ji. Arbinder’s poetry was sung beautifully by our very talented @satishverma746 . A wonderful #bengali poetry “Chitto Jetha Bhoi Sunni” (Where the mind is without fear) written by Nobel laureate poet of India #RabindranathTagore in 1910, beautifully recited by Sohini Das at our #rabindrajayanti on Sunday 10th May. The poem was written before Indian independence expressing a vision for a free, progressive and awakened nation. It is the 30th poem of #Tagore #nobelprize winning collection Geetanjali.
#surtalcommunitychoir was proud to present specially arranged #eklachalore “If no one responds to your call, then walk alone” , for our first #RabindrajnathJayanti commemoration day 10th May. Thank you to @kamalbirnandra for assisting our choir group with the music. The song was written by #Tagore in 1905 during the anti-partition movement in Bengal. It then became closely associated with #indianindependencemovement and was especially admired Mahatma Gandhi because of its message of courage and determination.
