🎶 The first in a two volume (and perhaps more) series of remixes done by some of my favorite current artists & friends, is here! First up we got two dance floor-ready remixes of The Pop (a song I made with @woolfy_official ) by producers @surface__noise (Los Angeles) and @hiatt_db (Austin, TX). I’m a big fan of their material, you should definitely scope out their other work as well.
🎨 A good remix EP also needs remixed art! That’s why I asked Seattle-based animator/friend John Howard Thompson to do his own spin on the original artwork my wife, Amy Gorman, made for me last year.
🌃 NYC I’m here! I’ll be here til Sunday, playing two gigs and recording a very special radio show (more on that when it airs next month). The first party is super exciting because I’m playing with old pal @jacquesrenault at @ntmvsmmxix in Brooklyn. Honored to play records on James Murphy’s famed soundsystem at this famed club! Crazy to think 10 years ago I was just getting into dance music - going to Dan’s Heat Wave (@heatwavelosangeles ) party at Gold Diggers (@golddiggersla ) as often as I could. It wasn’t until after I began releasing music that Dan and I connected - knowing I had his support early on meant a ton & being asked to remix his song “The Pop” w/ @woolfy_official was an honor. Seeing the remix getting played at Sunday Sunday (@sundaysundaymx ) in Mexico City, at James Murphy’s bar Nightmoves (@ntmvsmmxix ), & now on Tim Sweeney’s Beats in Space (@bisradio ) is the type of stuff I was dreaming about when I first started producing. Thanks again Dan - feels good

🛹 💿🎛️🎶 I’m a big fan of @surface__noise . I listened to his album “Here” (which got a lot of love of from the likes of @aquariumdrunkard ) a whole bunch of times. It’s so good. Go find it and listen to it and his other releases. Anyway, he agreed to remix the song @woolfy_official and I made, and it came out excellent, AND it’s out now! Link in bio 👆
This thing is road tested and approved. I played it at Nightmoves in bk and it kept all the people grooving (and sounded so well engineered on James Murphy’s soundsystem).
Speaking of engineering, Surface Noise has been one of my two go-to mastering engineers for some of my recent music. Holler at him!
