Three tunnels on the Trent & Mersey canal to Anderton Boat Lift. Fascinating insight into engineering of the Industrial Revolution. Preston Brook tunnel is 1.1km and opened in 1777! Now used only for leisure purposes, it’s great to remember the wide variety of waterways we have in the North West - lots to explore.

Paddled across Scotland! Due to switching wind (and thank goodness!) day 2 course was reversed, so we paddled to Fort Augustus from both directions.
Nessie was glorious, and mostly in a good mood.
Very grateful to organisers Emma, Duncan of @paddlefastuk and the brilliant marshalls, Allistair and Alison for popping up several times with help and encouragement, and fellow paddlers for support and sharing a brilliant experience.
