Der Lebenszyklus des LĂśwenzahns
Der LÜwenzahn (Taraxacum) beginnt sein Leben als kleiner, fallschirmartiger Samen, der vom Wind getragen wird. Sobald er auf fruchtbare Erde trifft, keimt er und bildet eine starke Pfahlwurzel, die tief in den Boden reicht. Diese Wurzel dient als Anker und Nährstoffspeicher, weshalb die Pflanze selbst unter schwierigen Bedingungen immer wieder nachwachsen kann.
Zuerst bildet sich eine Rosette aus gezackten Blättern direkt am Boden. Im FrĂźhjahr schiebt sich ein hohler Stängel empor, an dessen Spitze eine leuchtend gelbe BlĂźte erscheint. Diese besteht eigentlich aus Hunderten kleiner EinzelblĂźten. Wenn die BlĂźtezeit vorbei ist, schlieĂt sich der Kopf und verwandelt sich in die bekannte Pusteblume. Die gelben BlĂźtenblätter vertrocknen und machen Platz fĂźr die Samen mit ihren feinen Härchen (Pappus). Ein leichter Windhauch genĂźgt, um die nächste Generation auf die Reise zu schicken.

The Life Cycle of a Dandelion
The dandelion (Taraxacum) begins its life as a tiny, parachute-like seed carried by the wind. Once it lands on fertile soil, it germinates and develops a strong taproot that reaches deep into the ground. This root acts as both an anchor and a nutrient reservoir, allowing the plant to regrow even under harsh conditions.
First, a rosette of jagged leaves forms close to the ground. In spring, a hollow stem rises, topped by a brilliant yellow flower. This flower is actually composed of hundreds of tiny individual florets. When the blooming period ends, the flower head closes and transforms into the well-known blowball (or dandelion clock). The yellow petals wither away, making room for seeds equipped with fine hairs called a pappus.
