Words and actions of black feminist teachers of all disciplines throughout history invite us to take a deeply radical look at our shared connections in liberation.
June Jordan, a poet and writer throughout her works connected struggles of black, queer and Palestinian liberation which still ring true today.
Our struggles are intertwined and therefore our united front to dismantle the systems that cause our communities harm is what will liberate us all.
From Palestine to Turtle Island, from ending genocide to ending cop cities, from dismantling systemic anti-black racism to dismantling zionism, we fight and we build for a world we deserve.

Last week, I had the immense pleasure of meeting the legendary Gloria Steinem at her home with several other independent abortion providers from across the country. I brought a vintage SCLC pendant that helps me ground my work in the civil rights struggles that came before me to show her. I shared with her the quote from @maryhooks that I meditate on daily, "The mandate for Black people in this time is to avenge the suffering of our ancestors, to earn the respect of future generations, and be willing to be transformed in the service of the work!"
We shared with her the challenges we've faced keeping abortion care as accessible as possible in the years following Dobbs and the hope we have for light in this very dark time. She shared the resilience and determination she witnessed in her many years in the movement and encouraged us to keep fighting.
I am committed to making reproductive justice a reality and to fulfilling the mandate Mary issued. Will you join me in supporting Independent Abortion Care Across Borders: /donate/careacrossborders
Black women are at significantly higher risk for a wide range of pregnancy-related complications — from postpartum depression to cardiac arrest.
These aren’t rare outcomes. They’re part of a systemic pattern.
