This man right here is the reason for every musical success I’ve accomplished in this life because he was the foundation. He created a place where we can gather and learn the beautiful instrument steel pan. I cannot thank you more for everything you have done for me. Every word of encouragement, every music lesson, every act of kindness went a long way in my life.
I started pan in 2002 in his summer program and by 2004 I was on a pallet playing senior panorama as the youngest player (9 years old) at the time.
The pan yard was always open to who was serious about music and the walls were painted with scales and chords.
He gave me the opportunity to assist him in summer programs over the years. He saw my potential in becoming a pan tutor and told me that I should take over which I excitedly did for two years. When I got an athletic scholarship, my coach “Mercy” advised me to take a steel pan with me because he knew how important music was for me. Grey didn’t even hesitate to give me a tenor pan which I used at gigs and in my productions. When he realized I was into music production, his favorite was the Heights of Greatness Riddim and he told me to keep up the great work. Thank you again for everything and may you Rest in Power. Your influence and impact in the community was never go unnoticed.
