It was a great sad shock to meet the morning in Australia with the awful news of Nigel Dunnett passing after a long illness. All our plant love to his wife Marta, children, colleagues and the greater plant community It is rare in this life you have the chance to work with your heroes. To learn from internationally respected visionaries and plant nerd out with them. So much gratitude for his generosity and time both for and beyond Laak Boorndap, the Melbourne Arts Precinct Urban Garden in which his legacy with live. A little glimpse into something we have been quietly growing 🌿 This pilot vertical meadow applied to construction site fencing with @suburbanrailloop is a living example of experimentation, observation and collaboration in design with Super Bloom's public realm partners Testing and refining. From structure to seasonality, every layer is considered. The Australian climate is known for its extremes, and with those extremes comes great beauty and resonance. The seasonal responsiveness that plants can have with a sudden influx of rain, the survivability of extreme dry and fire.
