if i don’t post this now i never will, so here it goes:
when i first went to @draaimolen_ as a visitor in 2023, i was blown away. the lineup, the production, the sense of DIY creativity in every stage design. i just thought something like this wasn’t possible in the netherlands.
it’s been my third year now. this time as part of the team. and i still can’t understand, HOW this mix of DIY and professional production works, but it does. and it was beautiful to witness everything falling into place as the never-ending deluge of little organisational intricacies kept being taken care of.
more and more people coming in, sharing their time and pouring their heart and soul into this. not for money or fame, but for the joy of knowing we are creating one of the best music festivals in the world. each of us individuals. each of us with our own blueprint of what that even meant.
and in the end?
despite all of these different personalities
despite all these sometimes conflicting ideals
despite all the pressure
despite all the weight on our shoulders
i think we did a pretty good job
my deepest gratitude goes out to @milovanbuijtene@tharimcornelisse@annelieke.rovers@hannahzwaans@waterdaniel for letting me be a part of this wild ride
and every single other person involved for being crazy enough to stick to the end

my new year’s resolution was to finally release music and play live, so i guess that’s done then

it’s been some insanely stressful weeks putting together a live set in such a short time, but it was so worth it
like most DJs i’ve been dabbling in production for a while now, but never really had the confidence to release any of my productions
saturday you all showed me that it’s probably about time to change that
playing two hours of nothing but my own music on my own hardware while watching the floor fill more and more was an absolutely incredible experience for me and i’m super thankful for all the massive support and positive feedback i’ve gotten from all of you
i especially want to thank everyone at @notexist_e.v for having trust in my skill even without anything to show for it. for continuously creating opportunities to make experiments like this happen in the first place. and for being focussed on the community as a whole — creating worthwhile experiences for artists AND visitors
just give me a challenge and a deadline and i’ll find a way
