Our next FREE events are today, May 7th and Wednesday, May 27th, and these events are meant to be welcoming, safe, and centered around the music. As someone who hasn’t had a drink in over six years, having Non-Alcoholic options available is deeply important to me. 🎷 . We offer FREE refreshments at my @shopatmatter events and they offer two NA options at Mockingbird that are amazing. ❤️ My goal is to create an environment where jazz and music empower people and not one built on exploitation and substance. Thank you to everyone who has helped keep my light shining. 🕊️☀️✨As I move forward in my career, I want people to know there’s a path away from the silence and exploitation that have overshadowed live music for too long. I believe musicians who truly love the art can help restore the connection and feeling that brought us here in the first place.✨🎷 . I’ve been committed to creating a more sustainable and supportive space for artists and a safe place for anyone who needs one which is @sunsetjazzcafe 🌅❤️‍🩹 I hope people continue to see me as a hardworking, caring, loving, music first, musician and human who is more than the scars I carry and that I’m not defined by my traumatic experiences, but by the strength and purpose that come after them.☀️ . 📸: @essentialexposure

This Thursday, May 7th from 6pm to 9pm we invite you to the Sunset LoFi Jazz Café at Shop at Matter. @shopatmatter for another FREE event 🎷🎺 At its core, this series was created to offer people of all ages a space to gather, unwind, and experience music free from corporate-driven industry pressures, and free from the influence of substances and drugs. Our goal is simple: to keep jazz accessible, community-centered, and rooted in authenticity which also includes empowering local musicians & creatives with livable wages higher than industry standard, but also empowering artists from all over the world that call Denver home to feel they have a space in Denver where their art can shine. ✨❤️🌅 . That’s why we’re proud to partner with a locally aligned business that actively uplifts young creatives and holds a powerful place in the community as the only Black-owned bookstore in the Mountain Standard Time Zone. 🔥📕 📖 It feels like the right home for this moment in our journey. .
