When I started Essential Exposure in 2016 I had this vision to help people do what they love for a living. I think we do our best work when passion and expertise dance together in perfect harmony. I felt social media had given us all the power to be seen and not only to pursue our dreams, but to create a life built around what we care about most.
Like many young entrepreneurs, I ran into all of the common problems. How do I book work without a portfolio? How do I get paid in MONEY, not exposure? How can I maintain a personal and professional relationship with my clients that will set me aside from corporate options available?
In an era where your name is your brand, I feel doing good business and being a good friend are one in the same. I started treating the businesses I worked for as if they were my own. When others were gatekeeping strategies, I was teaching clients how to market themselves without me there. I focused more on creating a relationship that would last, rather than making as much money as possible.
In the last decade, I have helped HUNDREDS of small business owners, artists, and creatives chase their dreams and build a life they can be proud of.
@clearcreekskibikes and I met years ago, living in Silver Plume and working in the mountains. After a serious leg injury Zac started ski biking as an alternative to enjoying the winter season in the mountains. A little while later he wanted to start a ski bike rental business to help generate some supplemental income while doing what he loved. We started small, creating content and building a community online. Zac had very little experience creating and developing content, and told me multiple times he wasn't "tech savvy". As we produced more content I was adamant to teach him the basics of my marketing strategy, in addition to some video editing, so his skills could improve over time.
Flash forward to today, Clear Creek Ski Bikes is one of the premier, independently owned, skibike rental companies in Colorado. Zac films and produces 90% of the content for his business. With over 1 million views across social media, there is a good chance if you see a skibike on your feed its probably Zac!
