Living with the compounded experience of a spinal cord injury paralyzing my lower body, and fatal rheumatoid arthritis crippling my upper body can be seen and acknowledged, even by strangers in public. And for this I primarily receive some amount of grace. The hidden torments though, of words that can no longer be used, of truths no longer allowed to be written; the paralysis of my spirit to flourish, causes me more suppression of breath and hope, and renders me the most crippled in spirit. ~ Annabel Sclippa
