I made this piece to be displayed as a gateway to the desert. Full of life, divergence, and resilience in ways that have seemed impossible. When it rains, the desert opens up and blooms. The rain always comes. Eventually.
But for now 9 MOONS is in the safety of my dining room. As am I. Reminding myself it won’t always be like this. Queer people, transgender people have always existed and never been stamped out, and that the rain always comes. Eventually.

A phrase that keeps coming up for me the past couple years. A hard thing to be told. A beautiful thing to hear. A complicated lesson to embrace. A claymore of a phrase.
I took this one down to Tucson for the day, where the sky is somehow even bigger than in Phoenix, and found a few nice spots to let the clouds spread out.

Today was install day for FOREVER UNFOLDING @azwildernessdtphx Seeing it up is even better than I imagined it. My dear friend @kroschi came by and helped get it in place before it got too hot (and snapped these pictures).

A while ago @amanda_adkins_art asked if I wanted to be part of the banned words/books show at @sunborn_studio (on 4/3, if you wanna come) and I, of course, said yes.
It’s a loaded time. Family say they’ll do anything to protect you, and then consistently amplify and vote for the people trying to erase you. We’re somehow more visible than ever, and yet the news barely talks about our active erasure, whether through our documents, or trans folks being killed.
I had a weird conversation with a well meaning coworker and she said “no one would ever know” about me being trans, like ok, but actually I want people to know that. I want to be seen fully. Even if they hate us. Especially then.
Idk. I sure do love queer people and sure do hate fascists. I also think the satanic panic energy is so funny and embarrassing of them, except that it of course isn’t, because they have certain powers and are wielding them. Y’all be safe and good to each other, yeah?
