After ten months of sitting with her story, filming her before, during, and after the protocol - watching her navigate the edges of what unbecoming actually means when you’re in it - we wrapped our final scene.
That last image: her big sister sitting across from her, listening to how this journey shifted everything.
Not changed. Shifted. There’s a difference.
Kristina’s been one of the most transparent participants we could have asked for. She doesn’t perform the experience - she lives it out loud, including the parts that don’t fit neatly into before-and-after narratives.
The doubt. The resistance. The moments where the “inner knock” feels less like a calling and more like an inconvenient truth you’d rather ignore.
That raw honesty is exactly what this film needs to be.
We’re a few months out now from being able to share what these three people discovered about themselves when they stopped trying to become something and started the work of unbecoming everything they’re not.
The editing room is where we’re living right now. There’s a rhythm to this story that keeps revealing itself the more we sit with the material.
What strikes me most about Kristina’s arc is how she represents the question I think most of us are sitting with: what happens when you finally listen to that knock?
Not the first time you hear it. But the hundredth. When ignoring it becomes more exhausting than opening the door.
