My daughter took these pictures of me because “…you look like a cult leader!” 🧝🏻♀️😂 … In fact I was just doing chores (burning our compostable trash), but seeing these pics confirms that our life is pretty magical and I love everything about this life that we’ve created ✨🇵🇷
My first #cubera and maybe my biggest #snapper #spearfishing #panama 🙃 This was back in March and I was hoping the underwater footage would surface, but it did not 🫠 So I want to drop this here in my instaroll of memories before it fades…It was day one of a liveaboard fishing trip with @el_squid . Although I’m very comfortable #freediving and spearfishing, I was nervous. I was the only girl, with the smallest gun and was sent off on a boat with the experienced local spearos. We dropped in at the first location and I didn’t see any fish that I would want to shoot. There were plenty of edible species that I could have shot…but fishing karma is a thing for me and I usually target very specific species. I was feeling defeated thinking that I would never be able to shoot a good fish with the equipment that I brought and took a bad shot at a jack. I missed. And my band broke when I tried to reload. At that moment my confidence broke and i was upset at myself. I should have put new bands on my gun before the trip. Back on the panga, we set off to the second location. @pablospear noticed that one of my bands was broken and somehow fixed it. We dropped on the second location and pretty quickly I saw just what I was looking for…That very specific whip of the tail of a snapper. There was three of them and they were big. I floated like a turtle over them while I breathed up…(rest of this story in comments)
