I did a super mellow drop and once he got into range extended my arm and was able to put the steel through him for a perfect spine/holding shot.
Scenarios like this it’s super fun to have a light gun with no recoil 🎯🎯

Strike mission south yesterday to deliver @aneudyruiz177 his new @ulusub_spearfishing 155 — an unreal gift from the MAN @mr.sheffieldh . Called @moon_doggy10 and @el_pescadorpr the night before, made a quick plan, and ran it.
Aneudy didn’t waste any time… first blood on the new gun with a 34lb wahoo inside the first hour 🔥

I met Cameron and Gunnar about a decade ago when some old fisherman told me to try diving for Dungeness crab off a loading dock in some tucked away corner of the Puget Sound. I was shocked to see other freedivers out there — and even more shocked when these guys were instantly open, welcoming, and started taking me diving to all their spots for crab, cabezon, lingcod, and rockfish. They were relatively new to the sport at the time and cutting thier teeth the old fashioned way by working for it, trial and error diving and taking notes.
They always invited me to tag along during my summers in the PNW.
For the past few falls, these two have come down to Puerto Rico from the cold, green waters of the Pacific Northwest and put in work on big Wahoo. They don’t show up to relax — they show up to hunt. And every year they leave sharper, smarter, more comfortable in the open water. This year it clicked for them and it was awesome to watch.
The PNW crew is something special — Cam @jutilathehun Gunnar @gunnarfjelstul , Lucas @maltnsalt , Derrick @spearoking , Nam @spearotaku@biigwaterguy Sheff @mr.sheffieldh and others im sure I am missing— all putting in real work to find new spots and records and putting the Pacific Northwest on the spearfishing map.
