Humbled, grateful, and proud. What began in 2020 as a vision for a culinary program dedicated to wildly local food, cooking in the elements turned into a reality and now NYTimes Restaurant List. 💥 💥 💥 Thank you @nytimes and @clarkbar for the recognition. Thankful to all of our chefs — both past and present, who every day show up with their talents, grit, and hard work in this experimental space! Grateful for our guests, our supporters, our adventurous hosts @pendruidbrewing and most of all, to the farmers who devote their lives to tending the land and feeding us all, allowing Sumac to achieve our goal of sourcing 100% of all proteins, dairy, produce, grains from small local farms.

It feels surreal to read the review written by @washingtonpost food critic @tomsietsema whose columns we have been reading since entering this industry 20 years ago. A big shout-out to our Chef de Cuisine @haleyannaful and our whole amazing Season V crew 💥 not to mention all past cooks who contributed to the vision of Sumac over the past five years.
