The menopause spiral is real. But it gets better, I promise. Often the best thing to do is just share the way you feel with your nearest and dearest. It does get better once you are on the other side. HMU: @jaynadesaimakeupandhair #menopause #sujsays #womenin50s #50s

Is there a hidden message in these two looks by @AliaaBhatt , styled by @RheaKapoor ? Chintz was once banned by the British to protect their own textile industry. What followed were copied versions, often made without credit, while Indian artisans lost both recognition and livelihood. And the silk chiffon “dupatta style scarf” worn on a corseted column dress? A silhouette borrowed, and at times even rebranded in the West as a “Scandinavian scarf.” Now both return to the global, worn by one of India’s leading actresses. Coincidence or reclamation? Let me know in the comments. #aliabhatt #cannes2026 #cannesredcarpet #sujsays #rheakapoor

“Cannes today is very different from the Cannes we once admired.” What was once about cinema, artistry, and legacy has slowly become a sponsorship game — with people now reportedly paying sponsors just to walk the red carpet. The real question is: are we there to contribute to the conversation, or simply to be seen?

Cannes is about to begin, which means our feeds are about to be full of sweeping trains, couture moments and, for Indian stars, at least one statement sari. For me, nobody has navigated the Cannes red carpet quite like @sonamkapoor , who first attended Cannes in 2011 as a L’Oréal ambassador and became a defining presence there through the decade that followed. Back then, Cannes still felt more exclusive. Not everyone went, not every look was engineered to go viral. And yes, there were a few misses along the way, but overall she understood the assignment. Sonam, alongside her sister and stylist @rheakapoor , balanced global fashion with Indian identity, in many ways creating the blueprint for the modern Indian global red carpet moment. Here are some of her most memorable Cannes moments through the years. Swipe through. #sonamkapoor #sujsays #cannes #cannesfilmfestival #redcarpetlooks

This week #SujSpotlights, @harri_ks . A designer that needs to be on your radar. From Kerala to London Fashion Week, @harri_ks is one of the Indian designers we should all be rooting for right now. Long before balloon silhouettes became a trend, Harri was already redefining proportions with his now signature inflatable latex trousers, first introduced in his 2020 London College of Fashion graduate collection. Now the London-based designer finds himself in that difficult but important in-between stage: no longer emerging, not yet fully commercially secure, but absolutely shaping the future of fashion. Which is why his semi-finalist spot for the @britishfashioncouncil x @britishgq Designer Fashion Fund feels especially important. Fashion today often talks about creativity, but survival for independent designers has become just as critical as vision. And Harri has both. There is sculpture, humour, craft and technical brilliance in what he creates. One to watch, support and celebrate.

There’s a festive air in Sujata Assomull’s apartment in Dubai — not because there’s an occasion, but because there doesn’t need to be one. Her Good Earth votives glow from every corner, turning an ordinary evening into one worth savouring. “I think we’re all brought up to save our silverware for when the guests come, to bring out the good plates for company. But that’s changing now. Even if I have two people over, I’ll put up the votives everywhere. It’s not about waiting for an occasion. You should celebrate every little joy.” In our series Memory Keepers, we speak to collectors of our original designs, for whom each piece has transformed into artefact. Our latest edition features our patrons in Dubai, whose relationship with Good Earth began long before the opening of our Al Barsha flagship. Read her story through the link in our bio. “The Middle East Is Shopping Local. What Does That Mean for Luxury?” Homegrown brands are reshaping what luxury means, and international players will need to navigate this new landscape carefully. Read the full article in @voguebusiness . More consumers in the region are looking inward, with identity, relevance, community and cultural connection becoming just as important as global brand recognition. Link in bio and stories. We have never had so many Indians on the Met Gala red carpet, and it all brought India into the global spotlight in a way we have not seen before. For me some of the looks felt over-styled, slightly try-hard in moments, and at times visually heavy rather than refined. The “fashion is art” brief was either taken very literally, or in some cases not fully understood. And at moments it felt like there was a pressure to make an “Indian statement” on the red carpet that tipped into caricature rather than clarity. But despite that, I loved seeing this level of Indian presence on fashion’s biggest night. Which brings me to the question everyone was asking. Who was actually best dressed? After thinking it through, for me it has to be Met Gala debutante @AnanyaBirla . She opted for two looks, and credit where it’s due: @rheakapoor and her whole styling team shaped a very considered narrative. She opened her Met Gala debut wearing a stainless-steel mask by celebrated Indian artist Subodh Gupta. Starting on that note already signals confidence and control. Teamed with a diamond necklace of perfectly graduated round brilliant and pear cut solitaires designed by @thakorlalhiralal . But it was her second look that stayed with me even more. A sculptural gown referencing bronze sculpture from India’s Chola dynasty period, by @ashistudio . What both looks had in common is simple: they proved you can make a cultural statement with restraint, elegance, and intention, without needing to be loud to be seen. And I know this may be unpopular—but it’s a lesson we still haven’t learned.

We always talk about the dresses at the Met Gala. But this year, I found myself looking at something else entirely: the jewellery. That is also why this is not a dress breakdown, but a jewellery one. What stood out to me at the Met Gala 2026 was two very distinct approaches to natural diamonds. One is more overt, more immediately visible. Think Isha Ambani and Beyoncé. Then there is a more considered approach, where natural diamonds do not dominate the conversation, but complete it. Think Zoë Kravitz, Rosé, Cara Delevingne, and Natasha Poonawalla. Here, diamonds become part of the visual language. So I am curious, when it comes to natural diamonds, which way do you lean — the statement or the considered? And more importantly… what does that say about you? #naturaldiamonds #realdiamonds #naturaldiamondsatMET

Casting is everything. And @falgunishanepeacock get it. Their latest campaign fronts @bhoomikayadav27 , the Indian model you need to know. Discovered on the streets of Raipur, she walked for Chanel at 19, making her one of the youngest Indian models ever to do so. And she still doesn’t get the recognition she deserves. It’s a powerful pairing to see one of India’s most established labels, known for its unapologetic glamour, cast an Indian global face on the rise. Can’t wait to see who Falguni Shane Peacock cast in their next campaign. #sujsays #indianfashion #falguniandshanepeacock #indianglamour #fashion

The Met Gala is under the spotlight this year. Long known as fashion’s biggest night, its power has always come from the intersection of fashion, art, and culture—where style isn’t just worn, it’s understood. But 2026 feels different. With Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez as lead sponsors, and a guest list increasingly shaped by influence and visibility, the conversation is shifting. Has the Met become a spectacle of wealth? Or is this simply what a modern-day fundraiser for the Metropolitan Museum of Art looks like in 2026? Curious where you stand. #sujsays #metgala #metgala2026 #metgalafashion #vogue
