_the snapper brings an easy to use, realistic finger snaps instrument to Ableton Live with over 200 samples and 8 controls.
The problem:
Snaps are not always fun to record.
They’re a rarer type of percussion/drum sample to source.
They’re always an “extra” as part of a kit.
They’re never there for you when you really need them.
Snapping hurts your precious fingers.
You can’t even snap.
The solution? Read on.
The Snapper is meant to sound and play naturally. Each time a snap is triggered, a random snap sample at 1 of 10 velocities is triggered. You never hear the same snap back to back. Longer patterns sound more real when played, or as a MIDi clip, and the snapping is realistically expressive no matter what with baked-in humanization.
Tweak, the tone, feel, and sound for the snap sound you need, or use one of the 16 starter presets. Automate the 8 included controls to dd even more expressions.
From skin textures, to full on hard snaps, this little snapper snaps!
Make it snappy.
_the professional brings a 1968 Farfisa Professional to life in Ableton Live with 544 samples, 128 presets, and custom vintage effects.
We spent an unhealthy amount of time capturing every key, voice, and quirk of a 1968 Italian organ masterpiece. Now it’s a high-fidelity recreation of low-fidelity soul. Fun fact, it’s known as an “organ” but it’s made from a synthesizer. Its sound is one of those Wooly meets Bully type sounds. Perhaps it’s for the real Hammond haters out there? At the time it was considered a bold, aggressive, and pretty progressive choice for an organ sound. However you describe it, it’s an iconic sound in popular music.
There are many things you can do with this Ableton Farfisa that you can’t do with the real thing. Although we sampled every voice from the original unit, we did not sample any “organ stops” of any voices, as that would be impractical as a sample-based Ableton instrument. We decided that the many individual voices you can now freely mix together provided enough harmonic variation as-is.
• Minimum Ableton requirements: Ableton 12.3 Suite
• 544 Farfisa Professional 222 Samples (1.1GB)
• 1 Ableton 12 Suite Multi-Sampler Device (.ADG)
• 128 Farfisa Sound Presets
• Integrated Custom Effects Rack Device
• 36 Effects Presets
• 22 Device Macro Controls
• 96k/24bit .wav sources
• 100% Royalty Free
• Designed in Vancouver, Canada by Subsocial Studios.
_analog 2587 brings the best of modern and vintage analog synthesizers to Ableton Intro+ with over 12GB of samples and 2587 custom Simpler devices ready to play. Bring the hardware to your software with this massive collection of bespoke synthesizer patches.
Everything your hear in the demo track is 100% made with this sample pack only (except for the vocal samples).
Â
Why use real analog synths instead of software synths? They just sound different. There’s an aura about analog, even when sampled, and it’s a nice addition to your existing digital/software options.
Â
We avoided using analog drum machines on this release, even though we included many drum sounds. We wanted this to be a synth-focused release, and we will be releasing a massive analog drum machine sample pack in the near future.
_the accountant makes early and mid 20th century accounting machines playable in @Ableton Live 12, with 177 samples + 2 custom Drum Racks. It’s 100% mechanical for when you’re feeling mathematical. It’s money for sound design, or whatever type beat you’re making paper with.
Using an adding machine from 1923, and a cheque stamper from 1953, we meticulously sampled every button, lever, tear, ding, dong, latch, guide, and paper feed sound we could. Capturing the intricate sounds with an array of different stereo microphone setups was the plan. Placing tiny spot microphones into the machines gave a very hyper-real sort of sound, while microphones overhead and around the machines brought out a more balanced aural overview.
Having a sound designer like, Paul Boechler helping setup, perform, and record these sounds with us, was key in capturing what we have in this release. This sample pack is a perfect companion to our previous release, _the typist.
_the typist makes an early 20th century typewriter playable in Ableton Live 12, with 293 samples + 4 custom Drum Racks. Marvellously mechanical for sound design, or whatever type beat you’re writing.
Using a classic Underwood typewriter from around 1920, we meticulously sampled every key, lever, ribbon, bell, carriage, latch, guide, and paper feed sound we could. Capturing the intricate sounds with an array of different stereo microphone setups was the plan. Placing tiny spot microphones into the typewriter itself gave a very hyper-real sort of sound, while microphones overhead and around the machine brought out a more balanced aural overview.
Having a sound designer like, Paul Boechler ( ) helping setup, perform, and record these sounds with us, was key in capturing what we have in this release. Absolutely nobody asked for a playable typewriter in Ableton Live, but here it is.
There are 293 samples in total, including:
* Carriage Movements
* Bell Sounds
* QWERTY Key Strikes (Finger On & Off)
* Special Key Strikes
* Margin Guides
* Paper Feeds
* Ink Ribbon Feeds
* Switches, Latches, & Handling
* Random Typing Performance Loops
At the typewriter you find out who you are.
_vinyl records brings turntable textures to life with over 700 one-shots and loops. Phonograph, gramophone, wax, disc, platter, or licorice pizza - it’s all on the record in this sample pack.
We became archivists of texture and surface noises throughout the decades with this mega sample pack of vinyl and record player noises. We wanted everything in one definitive pack. Real records, recorded at 96kHz - check. Turntable idiosyncrasies, noises, and accidents - check.
So, what exactly did we sample, and what are these “effects” we speak of?
• 3 types of extended blank vinyl surface loops at 33rpm, 45rpm, and 78rpm.
• 150 unique needle drops / record starts.
• 32 unique record end of side loops.
• 59 unique needle lifts.
• 253 unique record stops.
• 87 unique needle scratches.
• 25 unique accidental headshell drops.
• 5 platter motor cuts (surface texture slowdowns)
• 21 unique accidental fingers on needle.
• 59 unique turntable platter thumps.
• 1 extended turntable ground hum loop.
We used vinyl from the 1950s to the 2020s, from virgin vinyl , to pristine LPs, to the nastiest, old, beaten up records that you don’t want your needles even touching! Sacrifices were made, and many B-Sides were lost. The 96kHz samples are more sonically durable when time stretching and mangling during the production process.
We wanted anyone to be able to recreate a vinyl experience, and have it sound authentic, but we also wanted bits and pieces to have fun and experiment with as drums, percussion, and textural effects. Throw these samples into your favourite drum rack, sampler or timeline, and live the rotating etched polyvinyl chloride disc dream.
All that scratching is making me itch.
_magic magnet makes hi-hats in Ableton very attractive. 128 MIDI patterns + 131 hematite one-shots + 16 controls + 64 sound presets, all wrapped up in a custom drum rack.
We tapped, rubbed, clicked, clacked, flipped, threw, and dropped, a set of 5 shiny hematite magnets to make a unique, but useful hit-hat kit in Ableton. We ended up with some pretty slick sounding hats, but also a whole light percussion drum rack slash layered texture making machine.
Through the use of multi-samples for each sound, you’ll get more realistic patterns without machine-gunning, AKA, re-triggering the same samples. There’s always just enough randomness and feel no matter what pattern you throw at this unique instrument.
Included are 128 Ableton MIDI clips to get things started. There’s a wide variety of feels and patterns as starting points. There are also 64 sound presets to inspire your own designs, and 16 controls to shape and automate with.
We wanted this release to work with all versions of Ableton 12.2+, and make use of the new Drum Sampler device, and updated Auto Filter capabilities.
100% pure hematite magnetism.
_filter skelter makes dynamic filters fun for the new Auto Filter in Ableton 12.2. Get back to the top of the slide with these 512 lawless presets.
We’ve been busy with Ableton 12.2’s latest iteration of Auto Filter, and by busy we mean 512 presets deep into this gorgeous beast of a filter.
Anybody can dial in a low-pass or high-pass filter, and maybe LFO it ,or even side-chain it. We had to go further with things. This is a curated and crafted chaos in the form of modulation and filter movements, which is now possible inside the new Ableton Auto Filter.
512 presets that just move, morph, squeal, warp, ripple, and squelch, and all you need to do is load one and feed it some sound. Obviously, we wanted these to be useful across a lot of genres and production styles, so they’re not all complete aural anarchy. There’s a lot of textural and subtle presets that will add the right type of source to your sounds, plus classic modulations to stay tidy with. Fell free to use the side chain input to take these presets even further!
New filter modes, distortions, and extended sync + patterning capabilities, all bring a more modern aesthetic and interactivity with all the dynamic filtering possibilities. To keep things chaotic, all preset names are 1960s inspired historically poignant events, and annoyingly difficult to remember.
Got to get these into your life.
_pecking order brings wonderfully drifty, vintage arpeggios to Ableton 12 with 128 presets + 16 controls to get down and derezzed with.
Imagine an arp machine that brings an organic vibe and feel, instead of a robotic one. Using slow random LFOS and Ableton Drift, we created a pattern maker with a vintage flair and just the right amount of instability that you can dial in yourself.
With over 128 presets you can scroll the classics. From full on 1980s, all the way to dirty bird anthems that will make things roll just right.
Just hold down some notes, and tweak your way to the perfect pattern with the 16 easy to use controls. You’ll be full on TRON in no time.
Life’s a runway, strut like a peacock.
_retro grade is that lo-fi tape meets digital effect that everyone loves for Ableton Intro. 128 lo-fi to study by presets + 12 controls to make anyone a master of magnetics in no time.
Glue, saturate, warble, add noise, crush, and degrade your way back to the prehistoric ages with this Ableton Intro compatible effects rack. Go from slightly hazy vibes, to “that’s definitely lo-fi,” to utterly broken, with this all-in-one tape inspired multi-effect. We even added a “scrub” control that allows you to mess around with the tape speed directly and glitch it out for some pretty unique results.
Our aim was to make an easy to effect, that everyone seems to want, but make it work in Ableton Intro with stock devices. We hope it serves you well for all your over-the-top tape style effects.
Degradation rules the nation.
_acid tongue makes you the Ableton producer prodigy you deserve to be, except it’s the 90s. Trip hard on 128 acid bass + lead presets with 12 controls.
Back when all fat boys were slim, and everyone was a fire starter, there was the sound of acid. Now it’s back with a vengeance in Ableton. From block rocking beats, to wide jean techno anthems, this custom Ableton Wavetable instrument rack is ready to rave in any stinky warehouse all weekend with you.
We think this little rack covers all the classic 90s acid sound design needs. Use the presets, dial in your sound, and automate your way into the 41st dimension.
Don’t forget to stay hydrated.
