Second Chance screened at St Xavier’s College Bombay as part of the BMM festival @zietgeistsxc @sxcbom 💜 The brilliant observations & in-depth questions of the students reiterated that there is no better college in India without a doubt! The warm reception by the faculty was heartening, being fairly new they hadn’t a clue of my antics as a student there 😈 My journey into the world of cinema began in my second year of BMM here, spearheaded by the maverick Maam Farida who taught us film, replaced today by an equally passionate Maam Belinda. This is where I first watched Pather Panchali, Bicycle Thieves, The Seven Samurai, Battleship Potempkin, Citizen Cane… and so many others. More modern masterpieces as our film club started, including In the Mood For Love, Talk to Her & Children of Heaven… As the lights of the MMR dimmed, stories from across time and space transported me to another dimension from which I’ve never really returned fully… 🙇🏻‍♀️ What a privilege… to be able to be on the other side so many years later.
