It finally happened! After years of building LEGO characters hoping to encounter the real ones… We met Gimli!! 🪓🔥 aka the legendary John Rhys-Davies. The LOTR meetup was epic — dwarves, elves, and handsome hobbits with excellent feet. Downtown was buzzing and the Convention Centre was electric. The @toytraders Bag End facade? Absolutely unreal. Meeting @john_rhys_davies was such an honour! Classy. Attentive. Full Gimli voice. And he complimented our faux foam beard. We’re never washing it again. And then free Timmies hot chocolate?! Over 100 bracelet swaps, 2 lbs of glitter, and about 30k waddle steps in Lego Tay and we truly got to feel the magic of the Taylor Swift experience. We didn't have tickets but we had such a fun time meeting so many people from all over and truly feeling the love. Only one wardrobe malfunction and a few low hanging branches, but we managed to walk home, pretty much intact. ⭐️For May the 4th, we partnered up with @styrogirls as they suited up in Boba Fett Lego and brought along Carbonite Han Solo around downtown Vancouver. We stopped by the Space Centre, Vancouver Art Gallery, and the Vancouver Public Library where we met so many Star Wars fans! Happy May the Fourth! We needed a more secure location for our Han Solo popsicle so we headed down to the H.R. MacMillan Space Centre for most excellent carbonite accommodation. So fun to celebrate such a sacred holiday among the school groups ... even if we had to convince a few kids that it was #legobobafett not the "Mandalorian" of Baby Yoda fame. Such amazing energy at the H.R. MacMillan Space Centre May the 4th celebration! We got to showcase our Star Wars tableaus, design some kids' activities and gave an intergalactic STEAM talk, revealing that Jabba is basically just a giant space slug. 🐌No one stopped us. So cool to meet the @501stouterrimgarrison , such awesome attention to detail - even the simulated mechanical voices. They really made us want to "move along". The kids craft volunteers were amazing, and the Baby Chewbacca paper bag puppets turned out super cute!
