I have known Madam Abike Olofada since late 2024, then it was just her and her small pot of ofada rice and stew.
She lives in Ogun state. Wakes up at 5am, reaches Yaba by 7am, starts cooking, and doesn’t leave until 5:30/6pm. By the time she gets home, it’s past 11 at night. Then she does it all over again.
I wondered how she managed to show up every day same time with the same quality and quantity of food despite the economy doing it’s own thing.
It’s 2026, She’s grown her team to three, added plantain, beans, and spaghetti to the menu. It carries that nostalgic bukka feeling. I already see her having her own restaurant and I love that I get to experience her growth in real time.
She’s so resilient, and we wanted to celebrate her.
