A little while back, I printed and scanned blocks of my favorite riso colors (Hunter Green 80% and Flat Gold 85%, in case you’re curious) and thought—why not make something fun with these?
Originally, I was aiming for 100% cotton bandanas, but the production timeline was a bit too long. So instead, I went with a one-side digital print on satin as the first test. The satin has this beautiful, silky finish that really lets the colors pop, and all the texture of the print comes straight from the original riso scans. (Cotton is still the dream—maybe next time?)🥹
I‘ve made just a few of these as a test run. So let me know: would you actually buy one? 🫣

Also an example of how to draw with ‘separate layers’ in mind and print straight away:
1. Digital sketch
2. Printing file of hunter green
3. Printing file of fluorescent orange
4. Final print on A3 120gsm warm white paper
The pencil brush creates natural grey which will lower the opacity of ink when prints, even though it’s printed with 90% hunter green and 100% fluorescent oranges, the contrast is not as strong as the digital file.
