When I was a kid my dad worked in a rubber manufacturing plant. One of their specialties was golf ball cores. He would come home with a pocket full of golf ball cores for me to play with. They bounced higher than the super balls you got in the gumball machines. One night, kids broke into the factory and knocked all the drums of golf ball cores, sending them every possible nook and cranny which shut production down till maintenance could clean up the mess. Years later the factory moved to steel manufacturing, where to this day crews are still finding little golf ball cores in corners of the building, behind machinery, and the surrounding property.
This image showcases my prowess with a Dremel tool to carefully “scalp” and reveal the core of a golf ball.
